Rumor is that Mullen is going to jump when tennessee makes the offer. Gruden is coming to starkville. He has a cowbell ringtone and has been waiting for an offer. That's why he hasn't taken any other position

I upvoted for the use of the word 'mollywhop.'

Brohm and Jim Bob should be in Tier I.

board dullard kywildcatfanone has soiled himself ITT

List their anticipated salaries. Then look at the three cheapest and that's who the UT admin would consider.

1. Jon Gruden, MNF & Super Bowl Winner. Owns land in East Tennessee
Won't coach again

2. Chip Kelly, Elite offensive mind
Would never go to Tennessee

3. Bob Stoops, Elite defensive mind
possible I guess, if he misses coaching.
quote:
4. Bobby Petrino, HC Louisville
I'd say he would jump at the job, huge step up. But the backlash from Louisville after giving him a second chance would be nuts. Does he care? Idk.

5. Lane Kiffin, HC FAU, misses VOLS per back channels
this got you an upvote. 10/10 troll
quote:
6. Dan Mullen, HC Mississippi State
Better gig, but I just see him holding out for some place like Florida
quote:
7. Mike Gundy, HC Oklahoma State
Not leaving OkSU unless it's for a top 5 job, and even then it's only if things have totally soured with T Boone and the boosters
quote:
8. Willie Taggart, HC Oregon
The guy just lost to ASU, pump the brakes. But Tennessee is a step down. Florida is the job that he would jump at in a heart beat.
quote:
9. Justin Fuente, HC Virginia Tech
don't know if he leaves yet, and for UTk at that

This will be the caliber of coach the Vols ultimately get

You have him at tier IV, but Cutliffe would be a good hire imo

LMAO Jim Barna log homes already has a blue print drawn up for a very nice, yet tasteful abode on King Jon's land that features 360 degree vistas of God's country.

Where is Houston Dale Nutt?
Posted on 9/26/17 at 3:26 pm to Robert Goulet
yeah but do they carry cowbells? Gruden is a huge cowbell fan. This size of his fandom dwarfs the milky way galaxy... which by the way Mississippi State University offer the finest meats and cheeses and milk and ice cream too.

The difference is that none of the schools you listed are actively looking for a head coach.
Florida could be....and isn't Oklahoma doing the interim thing this year? (Of course, if he continues to win the interim might get the nod for the permanent job, and I suspect McElwain will win just enough to keep his job, however the arrests could send him out the door.)

not a bad hire
I would still be shocked if Tennessee would let him come back after the way he left you. And he wasn't a great hire. Kiffen was fired on the tarmac and not allowed to get on the airplane by USC, iirc.

Tier I
1. Jon Gruden, MNF & Super Bowl Winner. Owns land in East Tennessee
quote:
Why do TN fans always assume that a guy buys land in the state because he wants to coach there? Dude's not coaching again but I wish he would and I wish he would coach at TN. He's been out of coaching so long that he wouldn't want to put in the work necessary.
2. Chip Kelly, Elite offensive mind
quote:
Step down, at best. He wants no part of the SEC opponents of UT.
3. Bob Stoops, Elite defensive mind

You might not have heard, but he retired.
Tier II
4. Bobby Petrino, HC Louisville

Lateral move.
5. Lane Kiffin, HC FAU, misses VOLS per back channels
quote:
LMFAO. A match made in heaven. Wonder what would happen after he lost his first two games.
6. Dan Mullen, HC Mississippi State
quote:
He's building. Another lateral move.
7. Mike Gundy, HC Oklahoma State
quote:
Are you freaking kidding me?!?! This would be a step down.
12. Les Miles, Former HC LSU

You guys love the leftovers.
Tier IV
15. David Cutcliffe, HC Duke

Hasn't this been tried before? How old is the guy?

I do not expect Florida to be looking due to Mac's $15 mill buyout.
Lincoln Riley was hired on a permanent basis, not as an interim coach.

User Cobb Dawg still has not mastered internettin' via Tigerdroppings, and is now on record saying that Chip fricking Kelly is a "step-down" from Butch Jones.

I said the TN job would be a step down from ND. And it would.
