It's kind of funny how clueless some people act or at least how they leave out evidence contrary to their argument. I was at the game, yea Bama fans (myself included joined in) were cheering, but in no way was it because of the injury, but to keep a momemetum shift on our side, keep the energy up, things were exciting. The MAIN point I have to make though is this: LSU fans were the first to start this trend yesterday (WHILE AN LSU PLAYER WAS DOWN). To counteract this Bama fans began cheering, you can't have opposing fans dominating crowd noise in your own stadium.

So to sum it up it went like this, during LSU injuries LSU fans took the respectful silence from the the audience in general as their opportunity to start yelling, Bama fans countered, and as the game went on Bama fans took the initiative before LSU fans had the chance during later injuries.

All this being said I hope Charles Scott recovered fully, he has been one of my favorite SEC players since last

Yeah. The group of purple and gold in the east deck wanted to jaw with the student section during the stop in play.

And they got what they asked for.

Cheering when a player is injured is classless and wrong, typical Bamma Mammas so I guess it's normal for them.

So to sum all of this up you're saying that basically there were 80,000 + douches in the stadium. OK. I'll buy that. Makes sense now.

You mean when we started chanting the player's name who was down? Yes, had you allowed us to chant the down LSU player's name, momentum might have shifted our way. Good thing you stopped that from happening.

And contrary to what you wanna believe. When fans start cheering the very second a LSU player goes down, I have a hard time thinking this is "just to keep momentum on our side" But whatever helps you sleep at night.

And it wasn't just cheering from the Bama fans. The booing when T-Bob limped off the field pretty much summed it up. Defend it all you want, emotions run high in a game like this. But its something I've never experienced in any other stadium before. Even the Florida fans last year showed more respect and class than what the Alabama student section showed last night.

eta - And I won't even mention what the walk back after the game was like.

I was there so I think I have a better grip of what was going on. The LSU chants that I heard weren't chanting the injured players name but more "Go Tigers" or whatever. As far as the booing injuries late in the game I can honestly say I did not join in that and I don't condone that either. People were just frustrated that LSU was milking it to get stoppages, but as a fan you have no idea if the injury is serious or not so I don't think you can make that judgement and boo. Now if I am wrong about what the LSU fans were chanting and they were merely chanting the injured players' names, then I suck and I fail , and I apologize for my actions late in the game.

I respectfully disagree. I've seen other games where the home fans have booed an injured player from the other team when the player didn't really seem that hurt and would develop a limp and go down to stop the clock. They typically get up with a slight limp and somehow are able to walk off completely normally. After a while it became obvious that you o-lineman was legitimatly hobbled. Having said that, it's bad form to boo. The injured player should alway be given the benefit of the doubt that he isn't faking it. I think the fact that Peterson went down 3 separate times like he had been shot only to quickly return had fans thinking their was a lot of faking of injuries going on. Still bad form to boo. I've been to a ton of Bama games before and that was a first for me and it was pretty embarrassing to hear.

on the subject of the LSU "injuries" yesterday, if that many lineman are going out of the game leslie should look into a new S&C coach.

Like I said, emotions run high in a game like this. When you watch an opposing player go down over and over again, sometimes any logical thinking or understanding of what cramping can do gets thrown out the window. Your emotions get the best of you and cause you to do something stupid like boo or cheer an injured player. And that's what I think happened with the majority of the Bama fans not in the student section.
