Didn't Jamarr Chase quit on his teammates that season? How do you feel about him? The same as Gilbert I am guessing?

Chase opted out before the season started. Coming off an NC, Biletnikoff Award and the uncertainty of how deadly COVID was, I understood his decision. LSU wasn't going to repeat and he wasn't going to improve his draft position.

the 1st, or the second, or the 3rd. Maybe if UGA had a decent QB or something.

So here is the deal……

We run a balanced offense as we dominate the first halves, and then we run out the clock to finish games off. What you are asking for us not unreasonable and unrealistic.

They pick on Arik because he decided that he didn’t like being at LSU and left. He was a great player- a generational player- to the Tiger fans until he decided to get the hell outta BR. They can’t stand the fact that he is doing well and playing for another SEC program. He looked pretty awesome in UGAs spring game. He has worked hard on his conditioning and health. I’m expecting good things from him.

It’s not that we can’t stand he is doing well it’s the fact that you need to bring it up every five seconds. When he has really not accomplished anything compared to so many other players on your team and previous players on your team. And he was committed to how many different teams in the process? The kid has a long way towards getting respect from Tiger fans and others. Why don’t you just give it a rest and let the season play out.

To the best of my recollection I haven’t said anything at all about Arik. He took time off to heal and adjust to a new program so it would be hard for him to “accomplish” anything since he hasn’t played other than the spring game. And he looked mighty fine that day. They said he had been doing a lot of conditioning and had lost a lot of weight and still had a few more pounds to go. If he is that good carrying extra weight it’s going to be incredible to see what he can do once he loses a little more. From all reports he is working hard and doing great. That’s all we ask. He seems to be a guy who is trying very hard.
And I’d suggest you “give it a rest.”He isn’t on your team anymore

Keep telling yourself that. Arik was THE man before he hightailed it out of BR

Do you have any CLUE about Harbour or just talking out your arse? I suggest you look him up. And me give it a rest? It’s not LSU fans on the regular giving updates on Arik Gilbert that truly no one cares about. Should I come on here and post about every damn player we have improving? No, that is what your own board is for. This shite is old and once he starts to produce we can then bring him back up like most on here do baw.

Run because you don’t have a QB1 and rely on the D to cover for no O isn’t very balanced…

Give it up slick, the UGA O is average to bad without the D limiting what other teams could do. Bennett is a walkon for a reason (beyond his height and meh arm and lack of athleticism). This year they lack an WR1, a QB1, and are ok with it.

A team that is committed to the run, in the same manner of a uga Kirby smart team, can also have elite qb efficiency.

When that happens, national titles are played for and sometimes won, see 2021. I bet you enjoyed that night.

You said that last year. You were wrong.

2021 Uga had an elite O:

2021 O rankings:

Yards Per Play: 4th
Points Per Game: 9th
Passing Efficiency: 4th
Points Per Drive: 4th
Points Per Play: 3rd
Yards Per Point: 3rd
OFEI: 3rd
Offensive Available Yards %: 6th
YPP adjusted: 3rd
Drive efficiency: 4th
TD rate: 4th
Value Drive Rate: 4th
Busted Drive Rate: 3rd
Turnover Rate: 5th

Right. he quit. I mean if you quit before the season or quit during the season you still quit.

Are you saying if a player cannot improve his draft position or LSU cannot win the title you are okay with players walking away from your team?

I understood his decision. LSU wasn't going to repeat and he wasn't going to improve his draft position.

Fair enough. How about all the others? Or is Gilbert the only one that y'all want to focus on because of mental illness. Seems like he is the one that needed medical help and he is also the one LSU fans universally slam.

Not all LSU fans, I should say. Some are in this thread going on record as wishing him well and hoping he can recover from his problems. Then we have a ton disparaging him, calling him names, wishing harm on him because he had a mental illness?

I have absolutely no doubt that down votes will rain down on my post....but would one of you be man enough to respond honestly about what I have said is not true?

Anyone who hates uga as much as you do should never forget he racked up top 5 passer efficiency rating and QBR, along with 2 playoff game MVP.

Smokey thinks the defense put up 40+ points against the Vols the past 2 seasons.

He can't comprehend that a former walkon is a more accomplished passer than Hernden. And he did it with a bunch of freshmen.

More like he ahsnt done anything yet at UGA so slow your roll. Lets not forget in this LSU blame game he had a meltdown on your coach before the season started last year and wasn't seen or heard from all season after that.

Why dont we actually let him do something on the field for a full year at UGA before acting like Jesus rose from the dead here. I'd be more than happy for him if he finally got his life turned around but to sit here and act like he was just an LSU issue is laughable considering what went down at UGA last year itself.

18 players left the LSU program before or during the 2020 season. 17 of them left for, basically, one of 4 legitimate reasons - to get more playing time, change of defensive scheme, suspension for violation of team rules or to prepare for the NFL Draft. Which of those 4 reasons did Gilbert leave? If he had left because he was homesick and wanted to be closer to home, I might be more understanding? However, before he ended up at UGA, he originally wanted to go to Florida. Hey, they all "quit", but any way you slice it, Gilbert's departure was different than the rest.
