Yes I’m now on board with Bama shutting them down so we don’t become #3

Honestly that’s your best path to being the 3rd best school in Bama.

This guy?

Trent Dilfer: Auburn quarterback Sean White is a 'program changer'

We call them program changers and we felt Sean was a program changer. We felt he was a guy who could change their program and allow them to have a sophisticated passing game, not just a play-action passing game."

UAB can be a good program if they find the right coach. Clark was as boring as you come for a modern HC, but he was a good coach. The stadium UAB plays in now is great, they just need someone to energize the community. Dilfer could be that person.

I like it more than I like the Freeze hire for sure… but I won’t be surprised if the Dilfer era is a dumpster fire

To be fair, i still think Sean White could’ve been a very solid SEC QB if his heart was even a little in football.

Talk about hiring a High School coach. They literally did.

According to AL.com, this is only the fifth time that a coach has been hired directly from HC at the HS level, to directly be a HC at the FBS level. None of the other 4 ended well.
LINK

1. Bob Commings, Iowa (1974-78), 17-38 record
… technically an improvement over the couple of guys before him. But he was followed by Hayden Fry, who completely transformed their program. Fry was followed by Ferentz. That’s right, this was only two HC hires ago for Iowa.

2. Gerry Faust, Notre Dame (1981-85), 30-26-1

3. Todd Dodge, North Texas (2007-10), 6-37

4. Tony Sanchez, UNLV (2015-19), 20-40

5. Trent Dilfer, UAB (2022-??)

Troy and South Bama are both 10-2.

UAB is 6-6.

I think that puts AU at #5, and Jacksonville State is coming.
