Meh, the major SEC programs still spend the money to be elite and the best players are in the South.
Someone’s gotta do something about Hartline though he’s been pillaging for years

A&M should get out of athletics all together.
Under the proper circumstances, I would be open to that.

Couldn’t disagree more. If you haven’t noticed the population is migrating to the south.
What’s comical is that if the SEC had gone 4-2 in these crappy bowls then these same chicken littles would be puffing their chests out rather than crying the sky is falling.

Sneezy. SNEEZY you know no coach worth his salt is going to hang his hat in College Station.

I would disagree with that. Probably not a converaation for this troll-board
but while that jas been true for the past 30 years, that migration pattern is slowing significantly, and in some cases actively reversing.
Cheap living costs, low taxes, and access to modern connectivity infrastructure incentivized the migration to the sun belt. But the sun belt isn't as affordable as it used to be. Housing costs and taxes in the south are considerably higher than they were 10+ years ago. And migration numbers are changing as a result.
The factors that incentivized sun belt migration for the last 30 years are now more pronounced in a growing number of Midwestern states. I would expect the migration patterns to reflect that reality in the coming decades.

End of an era for sure.
Great post! The writing is on the wall, too.
1. We have witnessed the abrupt death of SEC dominance due to legal NIL.
2. SEC “dominance” was rooted in paying players... and giving them cars, improper benefits, and under the table money to keep them from going north.
3. SEC schools are going to be the ones crying for regulation because they’re actually poor...really poor.
I'm not sure people in the SEC understand how much money graduates from Michigan have, especially at the top. We got old money, new money, and money-money in Ann Arbor...you don't live in our town unless you made good decisions in life, that's for damn sure!

I’ve been to Ann Arbor three times … nice place, lots of tradition and folklore.
But honestly, it doesn’t hold a candle to Baton Rouge or Tuscaloosa on a Saturday night. Pound for pound, I’ll take Auburn or Georgia for noise level over Michigan. Truth ….
West Virginia - Auburn 2009 … 30 sec … AU students section during a rainstorm game delay … check it out:

Proper circumstances being a renewed focus on quality academics and student enrichment.
I feel A&M has lost its way in recent years with a laser focus on athletics over academics. If I could be guaranteed that A&M would resume its previously held goals of being a nationally premier public university, I would be willing to talk about shuttering the athletic programs to make that happen.

SEC dominance was built on recruiting, retaining and developing the best players.
The SEC has the 1,3,4,6,7,8,10,11,16,17,18,19,22 ranked recruiting classes. That's 13 schools among the top 22.
It's much more likely the SEC had a down year than an abrupt death as you claim.

All this is true, plus with the increased heat YoY with climate change meaning it's unbearable in a lot of southern states (and catastrophic climate events like hurricanes, torandos, etc.), the growth will be in the midwest soon.

What everyone tells themselves to feel better about losing.
Reminds me of CoD lobbies where any player who was even slightly better would be accused of cheating.
