Florida will be good. Harris isn't at Qb we will win the East again. Tennessee has butch. Butch sucks at game management

It would take a real perfect storm for UTee to go worse than 9-3 (6-3), with an realistic upside of 11-1 (7-1).

Yep, I agree. They'd have to lose a game to a team with significantly less talent than them to finish worse than 9-3, and honestly that includes losing to a Florida team that they have ZERO business losing to at home. But, we have said that quite a few times the last 10 years, so that is really the only reason we keep all saying it could be a loss.

No. We never want to be preseason #1. I hate that position in either the SEC or the NCAA. That's reserved for UTk or Auburn. Hell, you can make OM #1. The deserve it don't they?

So everyone in the league should be in Tier 4 then I guess?

Shouldn't be tiered at all. It's just stereotyping ... it's not anything even remotely resembling scientific.

At least, if you're going to do it that way ... at least throw some reasoning in there.

Auburn was picked to win the conference last year - and looked what happened.

SCAR was picked to win the East the year before, and looked what happened.

Nobody ever gets it right except when people pick Bama to win the West ... and that's just a no-brainer odds-on pick while Saban is there.

At least try to make it interesting, try to step out of the box. Try to use a little imagination. Give it a little more thought.

Gave it a reasonable amount of thought, came up with what I thought was a reasonable grouping of teams.

You are more than welcome to do your own.

Do we apply the same logic to LSU and Les or no?

All depends on the quarterback thing (and their offensive line). If they find a game manager type then they could be pretty good.

They lose a lot on defense and that will hurt them. They will still beat us I'm sure though

I'll bookmark this post so we can see how psycho - er, I mean psychic - this poster is. He clearly can't spell.

When have we said that again? I am tired of the narrative that the SUPERIOR TN team has been BLOWING IT to the terrible Gator program the last 10 years.

From 05-10 Florida had Urban Meyer. They were hardly some slouch program that we were screwing it up by losing to them. Were we as good or a little better than them in 05-07, possibly but it was at worst an even matchup.

In 08-2013 We were straight garbage and losing to them wasn't some auto win for TN.

2014 in Knoxville was probably an even matchup going into the game. We should have won, but once again it isn't like our team was some juggernaut that year who lost to a team full of scrubs.

This year was a road game against a team that at the time had a hot QB and it went down to the final second.

So really there isn't one game the past 11 years that makes TN as ALWAYS losing games to the Gators they have ZERO business losing.

This year will actually be the first year that is the case and I doubt we lose.

The top 5 teams next year
Top Tier (serious SEC Title contenders)
Alabama
Tennessee
LSU

Next Tier (more unknowns, possible contenders)
Arkansas
Ole Miss
Georgia

7-8 win teams that could ruin someones season
Auburn
Texas A&M
Mississippi State
Florida

Bad teams that will hover around 6 wins
South Carolina
Kentucky
Vanderbilt
Missouri

I think this is a fairly accurate grouping. For TENNESSEE it's time, I hate to say now or never but it is what it is. SEC East and a trip to ATL at the very least.
