Just finished this account of the 2011 tornado that devastated Tuscaloosa. Very uplifting accounts from players, coaches, fans about how the football program helped heal the community.

I highly recommend reading it to anyone not just bama fans.

That may have been the most special season ever. Going to games that fall where roads were closed, so many buildings gone, constructions everywhere, equipment moving all over town. It was like we played around a massive construction site. Sitting in the east upper and looking back behind out of the concorse, the campus and town didnt look recognizable. Then to win it all. That city and community needed that in a big way.

What does it have to do with sports? There is an OT Board, baw/bruh/brah.

Thats not the only book written about LSU if you're referring to "it never rains in tiger stadium"

Check out Ole War Skule- much better read anyway

Which is relevant how?

No less than Bryant himself said that Shug Jordan had more "has more courage in his little finger than I’ve got in my entire body.”

Really sad that you're so consumed with hatred and envy that you can't let a post about the service of people in WW2 go by without trying to turn it into some type of rivalry comparison.

Read "A Season to Remember: The Carson Tinker Story". That's a really good one too.

The title sounds like Roller Derby.

Are you insinuating that there wasn't devastation in Tuscaloosa?

Not at all. Are you insinuating that there wasn't devastation all across the state?

Not taking anything away from what happened in Tuscaloosa, but it's a pet peeve to see people act like that was the only place that got hit that day when it was only a fraction of the total destruction and death toll.

I know people say it's just sports but until you go through something like the tornado, Katrina, etc.. You never really understand the power of them. I've never seen so many grown men cry like I did when the saints had their homecoming game in the superdome. It's amazing the power of them, even if it's just to take your mind off life for a little while or serve as a symbol of something greater.

So true.

Will never forget the a&m/texas game after the Bonfire collapse. That was the first time I'd ever seen my dad cry.
