Thank Sankey for expanding the conference. Greed has destroyed traditional rivalries

What you knuckleheads can’t seem to wrap your heads around is that when Vandy is good, they add an unexpected loss to teams expecting that win and it mucks things up. Sorry.

I know you are new to having a winning record, but Virginia Tech isn’t showing as a weak opponent because you beat them… they are rated low because they have five losses including to Old Dominion and Wake Forest.

They lost those games after we ruined them. Try and keep up.

How’s that weird?

Going by Median Team, while potentially capturing some of the trends, is a wildly flawed metric for measuring SOS. For instance, a team that played the #1, 2, 3, 92, 93, 94, and 95th teams in the country would have played a very difficult schedule (probably one of the hardest in the conference), but per your methodology they'd have the dead last easiest schedule in the conference to date. Why not just use the actual SOS? I think the answer, quite clearly, is you wanted to tilt the data to your preferred outcome (whatever puts Auburn in the most favorable light).

Sorry you’re an idiot. Then post them. I would imagine they are very similar.

I did, on the first page. Dumb frick. The bulk of your ire should be directed at Mizz (whom you have at 11 of 16), not Vandy.

Tulane is significantly lower than FSU in basically every statistical ranking (SP+, FEI, FPI, etc.). FSU is on a downward spiral, but they still have top 20 talent. Playing them on the road in game 1 with a new OC and QB is significantly different than playing Tulane at home in week 4. Playing 2 P4s OOC (rotating home-and-homes) vs. playing 0 P4s OOC (all at home) is not remotely the same.

The only teams FSU beat this year were East Texas A&M, Kent State and your bitch arse. They were one of the worst teams in all of power five last year. What happened to you guys? You used to be so proud.

OP call the league office. Aggies played at Notre Dame OOC and have zero say in who Stankey matches us with in the conference.

But I do agree with you, scheduling as well as refs have been abysmal this year.

I hope the University Presidents grow a pair and kick that bum out.

Want until the conference season is over. Like I’ve said playing the number 1 and number 51 IMO is way harder than number 24 and 25 teams (for example) and skews the SOS.

If Vandy actually played the number 280 team (unsure how that’s even possible) wouldn’t that skew the average? Should do tiers like in college bball. Who cares if it was 280 or 80? Same thing I but the extra 200 spots severely damages their SOS

Breaking news. Shitty teams have tougher SOS than teams who get to play said shitty teams.

sec is melting already ? We have just been here for one full season ! You forgot you have to play us too lol.

No I expected a slightly different mode of playing by the newbs along with the fake high of being in the best conference (see Mizzou and aTm). Wait till you're newness wears off and you realize you need more than just offense to win. OU was use to checking a box for conference champion in the Big12. You'll have to actually have to try more consistently in the SEC to earn it here.

SOS Discrepancy
In the era of SEC NIL parity, SOS is not nearly as big a deal as it used to be. And, closing games is more critical than ever.

Bama scheduled with a team that is 1-11 in the ACC over the past two seasons. G5 teams have a better record against ACC teams over that period. Tulane is better than FSU, gumps flipping OOC with Ole Miss would not change anything

Alabama scheduled that home and home years ago. Btw, LSU lost to Norvell FSU two years in a row in case you forgot.

You do understand that SOS arguments in the middle of the season are dumb right?

Mizzou has played A LOT of home games. You should use that as one of your bullet points the next time you bring this topic up.

This is straight up wrong.

For starters, this can be said of any team that wins games. At the end of the day you can't play yourself.

However, any decent SoS metric isn't based on wins and losses, it's based on a power rating of each team. And when it comes to power rating, a team can lose a game and still gain in their power rating. This is most common after playing a really good team and playing well, but coming up short.

So South Carolina isn't dropping because they've lost to Vandy, they are dropping because they haven't been playing good football.

Vandy’s schedule so far is a complete abomination. They’ve lost to #9 Alabama. Beat #19 LSU.

An Auburn fan making this thread is really gay because there’s no way Auburn would be 6-1 with Vandy’s schedule. Plus, Vandy has 3 ranked teams to end the season.

Unless you want to re-adjust schedules mid season there isn't a way to fix this.

A&M started with a schedule with #1,Texas #6 ND, and #9 LSU all on the road and #13 SC and #15 UF at home. Mizzou was Receiving Votes. We are also in the midst of a 3 game road stretch that made it so we don't have a home game for over a month.

It's not our fault a lot of you decided to suck and we didn't. Vegas O/U was 7.5 wins for A&M before the year because of that schedule because we were projected to be Top 20 but for it to be too many tough games. Now we get to listen to whining about how we aren't playing anyone.

I mean, Cignetti openly brags about playing as weak an OOC schedule as possible and it doesn't hurt Indiana with the playoff committee.

You should concern yourself with Oklahoma. Ole Miss won't be playing Bama this season.

Auburn would absolutely be favored to be 6-1 had we played Vandy’s schedule thus far.

#280 Charleston Southern at home- AU win
@ #97 Virginia Tech- AU win
@ #53 South Carolina- AU win
#165 Georgia State at home- AU win
#92 Utah State at home- AU win
@ #9 Alabama- loss
#19 LSU at home- AU win

The only game that’s slightly debatable is LSU. Going into last week, Auburn would have likely entered as a 1-3 point favorite at home vs LSU.

Now the other side of it is what would Vandy’s record be had they played Auburn’s schedule.

The Mizzou game this week will answer our question on that one. Auburn lost to Mizzou in 2OT. Can the Dores beat them at home? We shall see.

I believe Vandy would for sure have lost to Georgia, @ A&M and @ OU. So yeah, Vandy would likely be sitting at 3-4 or 4-3 had they played our schedule.

Thankfully we don’t play Vandy this season. There is a God.
