The SEC umps did not mess up. The LSU catcher charged home plate without the ball.

Pretty easy call, IMO.

Watch for others to try to exploit this rule before it’s changed.

Actually they did...the batter clearly steps out of the batters box as the pitch is being made which is an auto strike, if there is a runner on base the rule states is two strikes against the batter. In this case it was an 0-2 count with two outs and the batter should have been the final out without the need to tagging the runner stealing from third...

The ump and the entire crew blew the call the home plate ump initially called correctly by calling the base runner out if he was going to ignore the batter stepping out of the box as the pitch was being made (and there was NO balk on the pitcher) so either way the batter or the base runner should have been the final out...

The entire umpiring crew were incompetent in that situation on a non-reviewing play...

Doesn’t matter if catcher charges. As long as foot wasn’t on plate, or in front, it is allowed. Ump just made wrong judgement

Regardless, Milam said ball doesn’t lie

The announcers thought it was wrong and explained why. The rule says on or in front of the plate. He wasn't on the plate or in front of it. It doesn't say "charged" like you are suggesting.

Also, batter was out of the box.

Also, runner never toucherd home.

Also, LSU undefeated in SECT and Florida went 0-1.

And the batter stepped out the box before the ball arrived. Which is a strike. He already had two strikes so that should have been an out and inning over

The rule doesn’t state you can’t charge home plate. So why does charging home plate matter?

You are blind. He caught the ball then stepped up an blocked the plate with the out. You can’t block the plate without ball.

Biased because it was the wrong call is a wild statement.

Catcher’s foot was clearly on home plate before he had the ball.

Correct call.

Nothing until his foot was on top of it without the ball.

Tuscaloosa and ForeverGator agreeing on a call against LSU.

There’s literally nothing more I need to see to convince me that LSU 100% got fricked. Not that it matters in the end, but it’s good to get that validation.
