The SEC is suing LSU because their questioning a rule made the SEC look stupid?

In the state court, the argument is about NCAA eligibility rules. The SEC realized they were losing that battle in Louisiana. To bypass the state judge entirely, the SEC went to a Federal Court and raised a completely different legal argument: the First Amendment right to "expressive association".

The SEC is arguing that under the U.S. Constitution, a private group has the right to define its own mission and choose who it associates with. They are telling the federal court: “A state judge has the right to protect an athlete, but that judge does NOT have the right to force our private conference to change its core values and include them.” While this is somewhat true it forces the SEC to make a rule that is clear and without question which they did not. They randomly created a kneejerk ruling to try and stave off criticism. They failed on both accounts and they will lose this lawsuit too.

Why is no one seeing the issue is with Sankey and the SEC acting more irresponsible than the NCAA?

With each passing year it proves that the only model the NCAA and conferences were ok with was using 18-22 year old students to make billions and severely punishing them if they stepped out of line.
