I notice you didn't actually answer the guys' question.

Nobody is comparing ole miss to Oklahoma. We're comparing ole miss to fricking kansas or iowa state or whoever you deem would be the 7th best program in the big 12.

Still waiting on that answer from you

It's almost like you don't have any clue what the actual topic of discussion is.

SEC had 14 teams for a decade while the Big 12 had 10. I’d hope the SEC would have more good teams.

Has the SEC had less undefeated teams than other conferences? Since it’s such a grind and anyone can beat anyone on any given Saturday?

He didn't ask a question, genius.

He took the "Big 6" of the SEC and threw his own shitty team and Ole Miss on the end of it.

Know whose question hasn't been answered?

MINE

Where is my data I asked for about attrition in the SEC compared to other conferences going back to 2012?

This is why - bottom half of the SEC vs bottom half of the Big XII over the last 10 years in the NFL draft.

The bottom half of the SEC is more talented than any league in the country overall, and even more so in the front 7. State has put almost as many DL/OL into the NFL over the past decade as the entire bottom half of the BXII combined.

It's a gauntlet because physically you are playing against more guys on the other side that are big and strong and good at football than you are in other leagues.

No one knows what you are talking about. The problem in the SEC is you can't just play 2 big games a year and then a bunch of Texas Tech type schools. Your next game is an Ole Miss which would be a top 3 program in the BIG 12.

Spoiler Alert: Auburn IS a Texas Tech type school in the age of NIL and transfer portal.

The SEC prides itself on beating each others asses and getting after each other. Wait till you have to go to Death Valley and night or you have to go to Auburn and experience the voodoo. It’s hard. The worst experience in the world is watching your team go to Starkville and get into a ballgame they should have put away early. The more hope Miss St fans have the louder those cowbells get. It’s hard to go on the road in this league and get a win. Vandy is the only easy place to play in the SEC.

SEC gauntlet schedule

My first thought is LSU having to survive the Floridas and Auburns just to get to the Bama game with a shot at the West. Then you lose a heartbreaker and the next week you have to go to Fayetteville where it's 29° and Bert is wearing a 4XL starter jacket and has like 5 TEs and 3 FBs on the field all game.

Spoiler alert : Auburn has about 4x as many guys in the NFL than Texas Tech over the last decade. They are not the same.

I apologize to the Aggies who I ignored while trying to warn us, these douche bags from Austin truly are fricking morons.

Yes, going up against 2.5x the NFL talent week in and out who are bigger, stronger, and faster will indeed cause you to be more banged up, it doesn’t take a rocket surgery degree to come to this conclusion without needing hard data.

No they wouldn’t, because they wouldn’t recruit like they do in the SEC.

The “more talent” line of thinking goes both ways. Texas will recruit even better with the SEC patch.

And I’d like to see some data that playing against more NFL talent means more injuries.

Texas already recruits well in Texas, and hasn't Texas already had top recruiting classes? The difference will be Texas will still recruit mostly the State of Texas but the State of Texas has only produced 1 NC since 1970.

Honestly when Texas joined it means more talent for the other SEC teams, teams that actually play for and win NCs.

Did you play football? If you did you would know that playing top talent week in and week out produces more injuries.

Texas will be able to recruit better. This will cancel out any theoretical gauntlet.

At the end of the day, let's see. Next year will be here soon enough.

And if Texas wilts like a flower in Texas heat, then I guess we will agree this is true.

If the opposite happens, that Texas is able to withstand the abuse of an SEC schedule, I doubt you same posters (and especially fans of the also-rans bottom half of the conference) will ever admit being wrong and just move the goal posts to "Texas has an easy schedule this year!" which I'm already seeing threads about.

But it makes one think, if SEC is such a challenge top to bottom, how can an SEC schedule be anything but difficult? No such thing as an easy SEC schedule, or true Scotsman...

According to SEC Rant

1. Playing in the SEC is a gauntlet. There are no off weeks.

2. Texas' 2024 SEC schedule is weak

Look Alabama has been second to none in recruiting for years now and Saban has had 2 undefeated seasons. That should tell you a lot.
