how is this bizarre and freaky? if this is in fact the case, he CERTAINLY doesn't need to stop doing it. he's pretty fricking successful while doing it.....don't you think?

is because Les Miles was the worst qb recruiter ever. He compounded the issue with piss poor offenses and his buddy Cam Cameron.

O has finally brought us hope on offense. He acknowledged the problem and did something about it. Les let his ego get in the way.

Les Miles's lines looked soft as cotton in some of those games too.

Even in 2013 when we had 2 NFL Caliber WRs and a QB we treated passing like a damn truck play.

Our most “balanced” offense was 62% run 38% pass

We’re at 48.5:51.5 this year.

auburn is too much of a roller coaster team. They are not a consistent enough team to be year in and year out threat to SEC west teams. Very good one year. Not so much the next. That history goes back for a while.

saban has seen first hand what LSU is capable of on a yearly basis. LSU is his super bowl. He knows LSU is the one team in the west that can keep him out of atlanta on a consistent basis.

LSU's biggest issue with Bama is their OL has been garbage

Nothing has been more true. OL is still not completely fixed.

Actually, The National Championship is probably his Super Bowl.

And for 8 years we decided we could just run into The teeth of a perennially top 3 run defense.

Ironically, this would be the best year in the last 8 years for that offense to potentially work

But I'm glad we still aren't going to try it.

Eh, he's beaten Orgeron twice now.

We just need to step up and get better than Alabama, then we'll win more consistently in this game.

Is this the annual thread where LSU fans try to convince themselves that Saban treats the LSU game as his “Super Bowl” and that is why he has dominated them?

Maybe Alabama has clearly been the better team for 7 of the past 8 games?

I think that's true, but I don't think our coaching staff prepared and gameplanned as if that were the case.

I'm a little worried that the head coach still isn't approaching this game with an underdog mindset and willing to take some chances.

Or maybe it is because Saban is the best recruiter and gets more good players and is because Bama has more talent and has been a better and more successful football team

Not saying that all of that is not true. But the talent gap is really not that great and it doesn't explain 8 straight wins over LSU when they have loss to less talented teams from Texas A&M, Auburn, Ole Miss, Ohio State and Clemson teams in that span. I gotta believe that the way Saban recruits LA and preps for LSU is indicative of his focus on that rivalry. LSU's inability to be productive at the QB position is the other main reason for Bama's 8-year domination of the series.

It's the truth that it is personal for Saban and his most important game every single year no matter what. No bama fan will admit this so don't expect it.

Could be true the only good game since that night was the overtime game in 2014.

2012 was pretty good as well.....just gotta know about 2014 how much did REC pay for the b.s. PF late in the game? That call still grates because it was actually the Bama player doing a delay of game.

Nah man...no offense to LSU but AU is tough and if you have paid attention over the last 12 yrs you would see that he thinks all teams are tough.

I don't think he has 11/9 circled. He focuses so inwardly that no date is circled (except recruiting days) he and Tiger Woods are so unique in that singular focus. Prepare to my (individual or team) best and....let the chips fall where they may
