what's funny is other fans telling us abotu our rival hierarchy. Our biggest rival is tech. People need to understand a couple things.
-A shcool's "biggest rival" isn't changing. It doesn't flip and flop and blow in the breeze based on how good the schools are. It is permanent. Never ending. Unchanging.
-The fact that tech currently sucks is irrelevant, considering point #1 above.
-We have a long, deep, illustrious history with tech which has only somewhat recently disappeared with their suckiness
-They are easily our 2nd most played opponent wiht games dating back to 1893. We have the proximity and history with them
Schools have varying periodsd of what I call "nemeses". In the 80s UGA/Clemson was a damn war and abotu as intense as you could get. The 90s things with UF and UT really took off, mostly due to them kicking our arse regularly. There was a very brief time in the early '10s when some of our younger fans would tell you SC was our "biggest rival" lol. As of late Alabama has filled the role as public enemy #1. All of that is fine and does make some logical sense, but it doesn't change who our biggest rival is.
I mean think about how illogical it is taht a school's "BIGGEST RIVAL" can change based on the age of who you ask. If you ask a really young person now they'd say alabmaa. Someone in their 30s would probably say UF. Someone in the 40s/50s may say Auburn. Really old folks may say tech. Noneof that changes who the school's actual rival is.

States rivals significance can’t change. In same breath goes on to describe different time periods where significance has changed lol. Can’t make this shite up lmao

Lol you shouldn’t associate your schools recent success to you knowing dick about football or your overall intelligence.
It’s a misguided way to live. Perhaps don’t correlate your self-esteem and overall quality of life to your football team’s success. Stick to your day job

Man Georgia fans are very quick to throw insults lmao
Rivalries play into significance. The reason why at one point Texas was Arkansas biggest rival in the 60s is because they were both great teams. LSU and Bama are the biggest rivals now bc they consistently compete for championships. Is LSU still referencing Tulane as it’s biggest rival bc it’s history now?
Florida and Georgia have 5 championships in the last 25 years and consistently compete for the East which is the de facto playoff game to the SEC championship which is the de facto play off game into the playoffs. Understanding significance in the rivalry plays a factor is like understanding France was the biggest threat to Europe during Napoleon like Germany was the biggest threat to Europe during Hitler.
It’s not complex and it’s really funny seeing the dawg fans get so upset about a simple disagreement lol. Y’all are the bride now, but years of being the brides maid have clearly made y’all some insult throwing little girls lmao

I’ll tell you most hated comes down to most significant. It was FSU in the 90s when we were both top 5 and routinely decided championship outcomes.
It’s Georgia now since beating y’all controls the East and winning a championship. Not complex

I lived in Albany for almost 5 years and have traversed a very large portion of the state, as 2 of my 3 uncles on my mother's side reside and have resided in the Atlanta area for 20+ years, I swear to god I've never run into a Georgia Tech fan in real life. I'm 46 years old, I lived through their better years, I've never seen a Georgia Tech fan live and in person.

Uga and UF have a fierce rivalry but you are not our #1 rival IMO
Both can be true. As far as the insults from some of the posters , my best guess is you are antagonizing, you are passive aggressive, you get what’s coming to you :) walk it off you’ll be fine.

I’m from Albany Georgia and knew several tech grads that lived there, including 1 that was my neighbor…(you would have wanted to punch him in the face on the regular) they exist I promise lol

Lol. Ok and tell me Georgia and Tech are still the most hated rivals when Tech turns into LSU’s Tulane after conference expansion. You won’t. Just like no LSU fan will say Tulane is their greatest rival. Even though, historically, they are.

Don't get me wrong. I've met kentucky and Clemson engineers. But Tech engineers outpace them 5:1 in the state.

More rival advice to UGA from a Florida fan?
If we are going by records against, Auburn would be a bigger rival to UGA than Florida.
If we are going by records against, Auburn and Miami are bigger rivals to Florida than FSU.
But no. I don't get to do that to Gator fans. Rivalry application denied.
