Not sure Venables was cheating, but either he or someone on his staff was stealing signs.
If he could figure it out across the field it’s not illegal. I doubt this was the case.
Coach O recognized it in the championship. LSU switched their signs and ran over ClemPson.

Dabo hired Chad "mind boggling" Morris to be Clemson OC.
Gus Malzahn also hired Chad Morris to be Auburn OC when Gus was the HC at Auburn. That eventually got him fired.

Not sure Venables was cheating
IDK either but it is easy to see the bama people here are triggered by him.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that he has beaten them 2 out of 3 times since returning to Oklahoma.

All 3 of your points are not only right but also wrong reasons. The only answer is Venabkes came they won and when he left they fell off. Its pretty much happened on the same years.

This isn’t the gotcha moment you think it is. Most teams run some variation of no huddle to prevent defensive substitutions.
Even running HUNH doesn’t prevent sign stealing.
Figuring out what the posters they hold up and who they watch to figure out the posters is on every teams agenda.
Like I said. It’s not illegal if it’s done on the side lines looking across the field.

Hiring Chad Morris saved Dabo's job in 2011. He was on the hot seat going into that season.
