I saw Shannon Sharpe and Chad talking and I agreed with them. They said the days of having good special teams and defenses that can mask when your offense struggles are over. The A&M offense is consistently inconsistent. You know how many games we’ve lost bc we can’t score 24 points in a game? Too many. Maybe they will gel into the playbook. We need Moose on the field. Moss is going to get 20-25 carries a game going forward as RB1. Klein needs to throw the ball downfield. This play calling was too horizontal passing wise. Needs to let Conner throw up balls to Moose or Noah and stop running pick routes for 5 yards.
Your QB looked like warmed over dogshit and you want him to pass deep / more downfield?
Brilliant analysis.

A&M has so much going for them resource wise and fan support wise. I just don't get how they're not more successful.

They also have a subconscious inner voice that says "no, you can't".

The consistent characteristic over the last 20 odd years has been the decision makers (not talking about AD). Start there...

I actually kinda agree with this

They bought Blinn Junior College’s campus in College and turned it into a freshman/sophomore campus for prospective young Aggies who didn’t have the grades to get into A&M’s main campus. Their Chancellor decided to turn A&M into a diploma mill to try to catch Texas in the total of graduates in the State.

It’s nearly the equivalent of adding Wake Forest in less than half a decade.

It's a school cultural problem. It doesnt align with what young CFB recruits want in a school. Ya might get a few flashy recruits, but ya wont get a team full of studs.

Connor has played before. Your assessment sounds like you never seen him play. This is his first bad game.

Another problem that becomes strikingly clear when playing a storied school like Notre Dame is how "try hard" a&m can be. Most of the traditions are forced/cringey/rooted in being Texas's little brother. You're like a gay boy scout troop convention. Maybe stop trying to make everything possible a "tradition" and let it come naturally, like Notre Dame who won at a high level for decades and decades.

Agree with the above. I think the main issue is cultural issues.

Some of you don’t follow recruiting.
We have zero problem attracting top athletes.
Coaching, however, continues to be disappointing.
That said, this team has played one game—against the nation’s #7-ranked team.
We lost. It happens.
Much ball left to play, and I plan to enjoy the remainder of season.

The problem is culture. Almost a century of little brother mentality coupled with the dorkiest fans in sports.

This is the truth. People think "culture" is just a BS catch-phrase, but it is everything.
Young men in their late teens & early 20s are the most volatile group of people on the planet. Keeping them aligned and focused is very hard. Saban's Xs & Os knowledge wasn't lightyears ahead of everyone else. He was a genius at creating the right environment and setting & managing expecations for young men. NIL changed that, so he ejected.
Even when you get some luck, like LSU getting a generational transfer QB with a great offensive coach, it only worked because of the culture of defense that had been created to pair with that offense.
A&M needs to abandon their weird rituals. They need to not set unrealistic expectations, like giivng a coach a blank national title trophy. They set the standard for what not to do in college football.
If you haven't seen it, what coach Sark says about culture explains why Texas really could make a title run this season:

Maybe you should stop taking the blame when you lose. Staying after losses to practice your silly cheers with your boy cheerleaders all because it was all your fault.
Poor aggie

Ok, now I'm starting to get concerned. I don't want Aggies to actually act on any of this. We are just pointing out the deep-seated issue.
Please, as we were.
