Have you been to Starkville??? That should answer your question. No one, and I’m including you dumbass, would ever want to be there. You got lucky that Arky choked this year, otherwise you pretty much suck at everything..... go home to your overweight wife and enjoy a beanie weenie with mustard..... OM is better in every imaginable measure to MooU

They’re still holding onto that imaginary football natty before black people could play. And women’s golf.

"Higher ranked academically "
That's a good one. And by good, I mean idiotic.

There goes Ole Miss back to the good Ole days. They were way better in football then us from the 20’s to the 70’s. Matters diddly squat now. For a football powerhouse they have never made an appearance in the SECCG and I can only remember them being in serious contention to play twice. Eli Sr year and 4th and 25

Freaking lies. State leads the series in baseball and basketball. Ole Miss has more titles? In what? State has more SEC titles in the Big 3 than Ole Miss(28-18). State now has a "real" national championship. I'm almost 50. I can remember every sports year pretty well from 1980-present. That's 42 seasons. In that time State has a SEC West Title, been to 20 bowl games, has been ranked #1, and has finished ranked 10 times. Ole Miss has never been to Atlanta, been to 18 bowls, not ranked #1, and finished ranked 9 times. In basketball State has 2 SEC regular season titles, 3 SECT Titles, 10 NCAA tourneys, and a Final 4. Ole Miss has zero SEC regular season titles, 2 SECT Titles, 9 NCAA tourneys, and 0 Final 4's. In baseball State has 4 SEC regular season titles, 6 SECT Titles, 31 NCAA's, 10 CWS, and 1 NC. Ole Miss has 1 SEC regular title, 2 SECT Titles, 19 NCAA's, 1 CWS, and 0 NC's.
All time State has more SEC Titles(Regular and Tourney) than Ole Miss 28-18. But, yeah, ok, Ole Miss is better.

Please let us know how much that #1 ranking mattered. Didn't Ole Miss finish the season ranked higher?

Your snide remarks will never rob them of that glorious November afternoon when they snatched the 2003 Western Division title from their real rival, the LSU Tigers.

Ole Miss has the passion, booster network and ability to be Alabama in football. They haven't had the coaches since Vaught. Like the average Alabama fan, most Ole Miss fans do not care about non-football, although baseball has a good following.
Mississippi State can never be a football power, and in the late 70s and early 80s realized it and started supporting baseball at a high level. It finally paid off for them this year. But State has had runs of good men's and women's basketball, and has supported both very well.
The problem in Mississippi that other SEC states do not have is that Southern Miss has traditionally done a good job of picking up talent that could build depth at Ole Miss and State. Most years, both Ole Miss and State have good starters, but lack the depth to keep up with the rest of the SEC.
Big James, the 3 star lineman from Hoover, is going to go to Alabama or Auburn and ride the bench and work his way into the rotation. Big James, the 3 star lineman from Jackson Provine is going to say "Screw that, Im a starter at USM or I can play for Coach Prime."

It was even the 20s to the 70s.
It was a run between 1944 and 1973. Those 30 years, Ole Miss football was 23-3-3 against State. They hold an 18 game advantage because of those 30 years.
Break it down by decades:
2020s: Ole Miss 1-0
2010s: State 6-4
2000s: Ole Miss 6-4
1990s: State 6-4
1980s: Ole Miss 7-3
1970s: Ole Miss 6-4
1960s: Ole Miss 7-1-2
1950s: Ole Miss 8-0-2
1940s: Ole Miss 6-4
1930s: Ole Miss 7-3
1920s: State 6-3-1
1910s: State 7-1
1900s: Tie 4-4-1

What about it? I assume the rest of what he stated was probably accurrate but does it make any difference. MSU has had better success in baseball and basketball. If someone were to name the top half of SEC basketball teams would MSU be included? He brought up bowl game appearances. Would you gauge success on bowl game appearances or win/loss in those games and quality of bowl and opponent?
I assume you could make a case either way depending on what you want to rely upon. If State fans want to call themselves the premier program then go ahead. I doubt most people care.
