The breakdown of the top 30 recruits in Texas in the 2021 class:

A&M: 7
Alabama: 5
Oklahoma: 4
Texas: 2
Ohio State: 2

Now for 2022

A&M: projected 11
Texas: projected 8
Oklahoma: 2
Alabama: 1

The Texas schools more than doubled what they were previously able to get. You’re seeing the transition to a lockdown on the talent pool in Texas that will play a large roll in the future of the college football landscape.

5-star Texas Players: 7

Only 1 is going out of state (Cade Klubnik - Clemson). The other 6 are either A&M (Stewart, Harris, Weigman and likely Perkins) or t.u. (Banks and likely Campbell)

4-star Texas Players: 45

Only 18 are going out of state (4 to Oklahoma, 2 to Ohio State, 2 to Oklahoma State, 1 to Alabama, 1 to Florida State, 1 to Georgia, 1 to Missouri, 1 to Notre Dame, 1 to Penn State, 1 to Stanford, 1 to Washington

A&M signed 12, t.u. signed 11, TCU signed 2 and Baylor/UH signed 1 each.

What if they are cashing checks to stay at home ?

Auburn fan complains - those kids are taking more benefits to play for THEIR school rather than MY school.

It's not lost on me, why our country is moving toward socialism. Because a shite ton of people don't believe in free enterprise. Oh sure, they do for themselves. But apparently not for the 18 year old ball player.

Op be careful. Logical reasoning looked down on in this forum.

This is the year bama's downfall started.

We will see how they do playing teams that have more 5 stars than they do.

In the middle of a Texas based discussion, the voice of experience comes forth. If any university would know about paying players, it would be your friend and mine, good ol’ Auburn.

Great data, try using more than 2 years next time. 2021 was an anomaly.

Top 30 recruits in Texas that went to Texas:

2018: 13
2019: 5
2020: 9
2021: 2
2022: 9

Are we just going to ignore that Texas had a lame duck coach the previous year then finally replaced their coach last cycle?

Not a mention?
