people are only saying this because UGA hung with Bama. Which means shite. UGA also lost to LSU.. They can GTFO

I'd rather go to 2 teams than 6 teams to be honest.

4 is enough.
8 is ridiculous
6 would be ok
Nobody talks about 6

Six is the perfect number.

I think two teams is the correct number. History has shown that 1 and 2 are much better than 3 and 4. As it is again this year. The semifinal's will be blowouts
The playoff board is too political to make a decent decision

The #1 seed has never won the playoff.
The 4 seed has won twice.

expand to 8. take the champs.
Utah, Northwestern, Pitt, or Washington? Hell no.
I live for the day when they expand to 8 for the first time, Bama slides in at 8 with three losses.

I mean, it's never absurd that a team with 2 losses gets left out.
It would be absurd when a team with three losses gets in.

I really like the 6 team format. Much better than 8

The only real answer is 8
5 P5 Conference Champs
3 At Large
Otherwise you're just keeping the Playoff to have controversy and build ratings, which is all it is really about.

The Pac-12 was won by Washington.
You know, the team who opened up the season with a loss to Auburn on a neutral field?
The Auburn that finished with a losing conference record, 5th in their division, and finished tied for 10th in the SEC overall?
Put on a straight face and try to tell someone they deserve to be in the playoffs.

Better to return to the old BCS format and have #1 play #2 - makes the regular season more relevant as well as the conference championships. No way a two loss team should even be in the conversation no matter who they lose to. There can be only one champion and Alabama is the SEC rep this year.

This is the biggest issue. It's crazy to want the BcS back. I could see using their rankings and taking the top six, though. Probably better than the committee, who hasn't been right yet if they're really trying to find the four best.

You can do 8 without crapping up the regular season.
P5 conference winners 5
Best G5/1
2 ar large 2
It gives ND and BYU room to make it
Go to 11 games fixed with your last game a TBD cross divisional opponent. The division winners play each other and the others would seed out. Home game for the higher ranked except the SECCG in Atl. Still have 12 game schedule, but the SECCG would be the 12th also instead of 13.
The 8 that go will be seeded by committee, high seed gets home game week after season ends creating the final 4 that will ally with the bowls. Other conferences will follow suit.
