Bama's win further solidifies that their choice to not include a conference champion was the best choice. This will embolden them more to look for the four best teams and not be swayed by political correctness. It is a four team playoff for years to come.

Bama could lose 4 games and still be one of the four best teams with that talent, but I get what you're saying

Couldn't have worked out better if they planned it that way, amirite?

Sure was nice of them to grant Saban a mulligan on not benching Hurts before losing to Auburn.

No, they just caused a bigger debate for the system. A team that doesn't even win its division, now wins a NC for the second time. I can see the Committee being restructured to only consider Conference Champions and they would only meet at the end of the season.

The championships after a mulligan are always sweeter...

Meh, while I congratulate Bama on their National Championship I still think that football should be decided on the field and not in a board room. What’s wrong with letting a few more teams play for a chance and not automatically disqualifying nearly 50 percent of FBS teams before the season begins? I still think an automatic bid for conference champs with three at large spots would deliver a much more fair and exciting playoff system.

Not really. Your argument is flawed because Bama won. If they got beat then I could see your point.

No, If they would have lost, the argument would have been were they the fourth best team, which was the real debate. By winning, they rewarded Bama by not playing in their Conference Championship and giving Saban extra time to prepare for the Playoffs. The issues with the System will be fixed soon.

Why not divide FBS to Power 5 and Group of 5 and let the Group of 5 have their own championship? Because until they compete week in and week out in a Power 5 conference, their season is simply NOT the same...

Having the Committee meet for 6 weeks is a joke. Again, Conference Champions (ND/BYU), and meet only at the end of the season. They BB Committee has a much hard job, and they only meet once.

I don't think you are seeing this clearly. Step away from it a while and think about what you are saying. I'm sure if AU was in Bama's position you wouldn't feel this way.

I'm sure I wouldn't. But we are talking about the integrity of the Game. Five years into this new system, it is broke again due to Bama winning the NC.

Go ahead, expand it to 6 or 8 teams...

I know the refs are smiling when they looked at their bank accounts.

The subjected element should be removed from the process. If not removed, at least minimized. When I heard the "eye test" factor with Bama, even after gaining a total of 209 yards against AU, I knew it was broken.

From your perspective and yours alone... Since it played out like it did, there is no way in hell you can say that BAMA was not the #4 team going into the playoffs...
