Hell, I learned that first round picks in the WNBA getting cut early in season or even preseason is normal when Alexis Morris got waived after a whopping one game. Made the WNBA draft a even bigger joke in my eyes
ETA: the #1 pick in 2018 just got waived as well. Not traded. Just cut from the team. That doesn’t happen in other leagues that quickly

Interesting timing. This technically happened already in 2006 with Augustus going #1 in the WNBA draft. Shaq was 1996, McDonald in 1989, and Canon in 1960.
