Ole Miss has been preparing for 3 weeks and Kiffin couldn't have asked for better rat poison medication than the close call against Wazzu. His QB found out he wasn't quite the Heisman candidate he thought and the whole team found out they have to do a lot more than get off the bus.

On paper, this should be an extremely interesting matchup, but in reality, I think it has all the hallmarks of the 2021 "get your popcorn ready" game against Alabama. I hope Lane has learned a few things since then, but we'll see.

Looks like we spend 4 days on GA and one on WSU

Not really. Durham was out and LSU didn't even try to run. We brought 3 and dropped 8 into coverage 80% of the plays.

Looks like you'll run more of what you did against Arkansas then. UGA's got some young puppies on the OL so we'll see if OM can take advantage of them.

This is the intriguing match-up and I think the answer depends on how often you willingly run Stockton. Teams have not necessarily grinded out run games on Ole Miss using RB as the primary focus. Arkansas ran all over us because Taylen Greene was the focal point of their run game and we didn't seem prepared for that in the first half. QBs that are running a lot can affect our lanes and let a RB hit the big play. LSU couldn't run the QB at all and Ole Miss suffocated their RBs.

I think they're willing to let him run. Now whether or not he's effective with it is another story. Sometimes he makes the mindblowing dumb read for a negative play.

Another intriguing match-up I think will be Ole Miss TE Dae'Quan Wright against the middle of the UGA secondary. From what I've read, UGA's starting FS is out. Wright leads the SEC in YPC at 22.4 (scary for a 260lb TE) and when our offense is humming, it's usually because he's active in the passing game. I suspect UGA will follow LSU and WSU's strategy of bracketing Tre Wallace which will leave a lot of 1 on 1 opportunities for the rest of the group and Ole Miss has done well with these opportunities this season

Sounds like a similar style to UGA. When we started hunting the qb in the second half instead of playing it safe on the pass rush is when the AU game started to change for our defense. We'll see if we can stop the run with just 4-5 players.

My thoughts exactly.

I don’t expect either defense to shut down the other team. Has the makings of a shootout.

As I have gotten older I don’t dwell on it too much. I’ll watch the game.

Win or lose, either way I’ll forget about it when it’s over and sleep well.

Unlike others, I don't get wrapped up in prior games. Lots of reasons why the WSU game looked as it did, none matter vs UGA.

Watching the UGA/Bama game it seemed like Bama got to the edge and around the corner a lot. That UGA front didn’t seem as athletic as in years past.

We can run the ball this year. I think we should be able to run to some extent.

UGA will be able to run for some success against our front. Is that 6 yards a carry or 3.5 yards a carry. That’s a big difference.

What I think this comes down to is turnovers and who has to settle for FGs and who can punch in TDs. I think it’s that simple.

I think we are struggling in pass rush and keep losing contain. Our best pass rusher is playing for Mizzou this year....

I would think UGA wins that fairly easily, but they haven’t been consistent

Must be why I keep showing up in LSU threads talking about how bad they are. Wait... no, that'd be you.

Did the Washington State game show Ole Miss as a fraud

Ill go with fraud on this one. An overlook doesn't begin to justify that debacle last week.

So, was Georgia a fraud last year when they had a 1 point win over Kentucky?

If Ole Miss will wear a Red jersey, Red helmet with block numbers, and white pants, Kirby's brain will turn into a baby shite-soft mush, and he will be incapable of coaching.

Maybe.

LSU is bad this season. What would that have to do with the fact that you folks have been celebrating that win for three weeks?

I am, perhaps incorrectly, choosing not to put a lot of stock into the WSU game. Kiffin said on Friday before the WSU game that they had already started prep for UGA. My guess is they spent one practice on some WSU stuff and the players just didn't get up for it.

I was trying to say that Ole Miss players will be more focused and easier to coach up in practice after a game like that.

After you play like shite and win is when players are most coachable.
