Acting as though it's a guarantee is short-sighted.

What would you, especially LSU fans, say the odds are for:

Skenes starting?
Skenes coming in a unfavorable pitching situation?
Skenes coming in as LSU's closer?

I think it's highly unlikely he starts. If either LSU or UF jump out to a big lead, I think we don't see him at all.

If LSU is nursing a close lead or needs to stay within striking distance during the 6th - 8th inning, I think we will almost certainly see him.

He has to go. They have no choice.

Dr Andrews will open up an appointment for him.

I’m just glad I have one more game to watch. It’s going to be a long offseason.

Hurd will start imo, and Skenes will pitch 3-4 innings max when Hurd is pulled

I think he 100% will pitch at some point though.

I think he starts. Pros used to start games 1, 4 and 7 in a 7 game series. No reason Skenes doesn’t go.

Using him as a middle reliever would be dumb as hell. Start with him or use him to close the game.

Who says he’s middle relief? Hurd may go 6-7 innings. That means Skenes finishes.

He's never done 3 days rest at LSU. Not sure if he's ever done it in college? My guess is the coach will leave it up to him and he'll go for it.

I think he’s going to start and go as long as he can. I’d put the o/u at 60 pitches

I'll be curious to see his change up to fastball numbers. Throwing 100 50% of the time like in other games may not be what they'll allow him to do.

I could see us going Hurd 4-5, Riley 1, herring 1, and skenes getting 8 and 9.

Eta: tomorrow will
Be his 3rd day of rest, which for most pitchers, would be their bullpen/flat ground scheduled day. I could see a scenerio where he could go 40 pitches or so if the game sets up for it

He'll come-in in relief if they need him ... which they probably will by the 3rd.

Well done Gators.

SEC East.

In the CWS he’s been throwing fastballs 35-40% of the time. He’s been pitching backwards a lot lately and started to use his change up more than he had all season

I think he's 100% playing.

I think they are going to start Hurd, and wait for a high leverage moment to deploy Skenes. If it doesn't present himself, he probably closes. I'm expecting the staff to be limited to Hurd/Herring/Skenes/Cooper

Skenes starts and hopefully can get you 6 but that will depend on how your batters work the count. He is obviously a stirkeout pitcher so his pitch count will go up considerably faster than a ground ball pitcher.

I look for Hurd come in and close it out.

There is no reason to change your their responsibilities now. Skenes is your starter and Hurd the reliever.

Both of those guys bring some heat and that is what yall struggled with in game 1, high fastballs specifically.

Is that a common thing for UF this year? Yall can obviously blast breaking balls... fricking moon shots!!!

That was one incredible arse whipping today. Yall played great.

Looking forward to a great game tomorrow that I will finally be able to watch.
