If we’re being honest:

1) Alabama

2) UGA, Tennessee, LSU (there are valid arguments for these three in any order)

5) Florida

6) Auburn

UT and OU get consideration for their historic accomplishments, but they need to pass Auburn in accomplishments while in the SEC before they are included here.

Perhaps. All but Georgia had a recent-ish natties. UT’s being way back 1998 was definitely a point of discussion.

Look, all that matters in who is elite, or not, is where all the teams are currently.

At the end of the season only one team will have reached the playoff simi-finals, today there is only one elite SEC team…

This year, Ole Miss has proven itself as Elite.

Next year starts the whole thing over again.

We fans have always made distinctions between the quality of teams vs the quality of programs. I generally agree with you that results are most important but prestige matters too.

No. SEC titles and natties matter and the former was the original consideration for the Big 6.

So one of the existing Big 6 teams will need to be passed, IMO.

In the 2020s, Tennessee has more top 10 finishes, a playoff appearance, more wins, and a winning record against LSU. So no its not debatable.

UGA hasn't done more than LSU since 1980 to warrant being above LSU

The Big 6 has been a reference to the 6 schools who have won SEC Championships in the SECCG Era. There is no argument.

It's very debatable.

Change the word prestige with ego…

I’m a Texas guy, I grow ego in my backyard garden.. I can sell you some, it’s always fresh.

I want results.

VOLS have no interest in actually competing for titles so we can go ahead and strip our status.

Adding Texas and Oklahoma right as the transfer portal and NIL hit is unfortunate for a lot of SEC schools

I see Texas becoming Ohio State part 2. They have the money to keep them at the top

IMO, the pressure is really on LSU, Auburn, Tennessee and Florida to keep up.

Texas A&M rising to the upper tier isn't shocking, but now even Vanderbilt is competitive

Georgia will be good with Kirby Smart for awhile

I think right now you have a Big 5, with Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Georgia

I'm not sure what will happen with LSU and Lane Kiffen, but I'm more interested in seeing results rather speculation

It's debatable when you start counting "national titles" retroactively like Tennessee did in 2005 or so. No one doubts 1951 and 1998. But when you start counting 1967 and others LSU can add or count similar titles from similar associations.

The Big 6 is what it is. You are trying to rewrite definitions and that is not it. The Big 6 are the SEC teams that have won the Conference Championship and National Championship.

You have a shot at Natty. Why don't you fold up this discussion for a couple of weeks. Until then, as it has been, Big 6 is:

Bama
LSU
Auburn
Florida
Tennessee
Georgia

If you are talking about best teams now, best teams whatever, call it something else.

You obviously have no idea what the Big 6 is, so you should probably sit this one out.

The Big 6 is history...it's in the past now. I'm giving my 2 cents on the top SEC elite now and in the future

No it’s not; it’s alive and well. What an idiotic take.

Sorry, but the chemistry in your conference has changed.

Not my fault you invited Texas in when they now can spend $$$ on players. You added the 800 lb gorilla in
