When the ceiling of your degree is middle management, worrying about affordability of things is concerning.

Agree. Imagine ticket prices in Vegas.

Hard Rock is Miami's home stadium, no?
Playing at random college stadiums would be weird. The big bowl venues offer a lot more in their surrounding areas for fan experience.

Not to mention - how would they know in advance just who is going to make it to the NC game so they can avoid having a "home" team? (for scheduling and planning purposes they lock in the sites years in advance) Some (remember Notre Dame) didn't think Miami should have even been in the playoff. I guess they could play it safe and schedule it somewhere like Indiana (oh, wait).

As far as price gouging, I think IU being in the game was a bigger factor than Miami playing at home. But, what you need to remember is that each competing school got about 20,000 tickets that were sold to fans at face value, which wasn't cheap, but not nearly as expensive as the inflated secondary market prices we see quoted. So, when you talk about the price for the average fan to attend the game and base it on the secondary market, what you're really talking about is the price for fringe fans to make it in.

Miami/Ft. Lauderdale has a lot of fun things to do for fans.

Wonder what the price was in 1939?
$1.50? $2.00
Poor AgriCULTure and Mechanical College

Yeah, and ....
Hell if UK and Notre Dame .....
n/m not worth the effort.

I'd rather you complain about the price gouging that went on all season for A&M home games. I had to pay $300 for an extra ticket for my nephew to watch Sanford. SANFORD!

Yeah who would want to take a trip in January to a place where the average high is 76 degrees? Especially people from the Great Lakes area. Terrible idea to host it in Miami.

1 very large fan base thats never been , realizing they'll probably never go again and another fan base that hasn't been in almost 30 years are why the ticket prices were so hard.
We all know if A&M somehow made it, it would be the highest ticket prices of all time because there is no hope of them going more than once ever 100 years.

LOL....the local news had an Ohio State fan on last week. He bought 2 NC game tickets assuming his Buckeyes would beat Miami. He ended up coming to Miami anyway to watch the game to escape a week of Rust Belt weather.

But that’s a fair price for pro events?

In fairness, HOW could that have been predicted BEFORE the season even started?

Oh no…Miami will be in the NTG again in 2030!!!
We must prevent that!!!

L.A.? Have you ever been? Definitely not a place to host the biggest game of the year for CFB. Vegas is a very accommodating town when it has a big attraction/game. Especially for fans who don’t have tickets and just want to make the trip. Atlanta shouldn’t host shite! New Orleans is a destination trip just like Vegas. So even for the fans that don’t have tickets and want to make the trip, both towns are very touristy and accommodate fans who travel for the big games. The third should be Houston, but I get Dallas as well because of the stadium. (Jerry world) I’d honestly pick Phoenix/Glendale over L.A.!

WHY would anybody under 21 want to go to Vegas?
You can't drink.
You can't gamble.
You can't go to clubs.

Red Rock canyon, Mt Charleston, Lake Mead? What else are you reallly going to do with kids? They can sure go in the casinos, they can also see magic shows, concerts, amusement parks, museums, massive completely over the top candy stores and literally ANYTHING else they would want.
