I will say one thing. The SEC has to become more national as opposed to regional. Just as the Big did.
They should add Florida St. Miami. North Carolina, Arizona, Arizona St, Virginia Tech, Tulane, and West Virginia.
You essentially want to cut a line of lattitude across the U.S. and make two conferences: North & South.
Then you can call them conferences.
Then within conferences you can have divisions.
Then within divisions, have winners who make the playoffs automatically.
Then you can have wildc.......
wait a minute, I think I've seen this movie before!

1. We have witnessed the abrupt death of SEC dominance due to legal NIL 2. SEC “dominance” was rooted in paying players and giving them cars under the table to keep them from going north 3. SEC schools are going to be the ones crying for regulation because they’re actually poor
Why else do you think Aggy ran begging to the SEC so bad?

The SEC will be back.
Also keep in mind - most of these schools can't and won't afford to sustain the initial splurge that you've seen the past year or two.
Even in a free-for-all, the dust will settle.

That’s a very convenient narrative for the Shane Gillis’s of the world.
20+ years of dominance must have an explanation.
I bet if the Big-10 dominates for the next 20 years it will be because they were smarter.

The SEC won't win the Natty as often, but will almost always be the toughest league.
I think one thing that kind of helps the BIG10 a bit is that a lot of their powers are regional. Michigan and Ohio St can coexist and both be good at the same time. Oregon and USC are kind of on their own islands. Penn St recruits its own area a lot.
Most of the SEC is dipping into Georgia. The old SEC West, Texas, and OU all recruit Texas and Louisiana hard. Alabama and Auburn fight it out over in state guys. Everyone recruits Florida hard. And even then some of the "local" guys still leave and go to the BIG10 as well. So you've got a bigger bucket but a lot more hands in it. It feels like you have more of an "either or" situation with a lot of SEC teams in terms of who is good in a given year.... Bama or Auburn, Bama or LSU, OU or Texas, A&M or LSU. I don't think that is necessarily the case in the BIG10.

Meh, Michigan wins by cheating and OSU wins by playing players millions in back to back years and these bozos believe there's been some seismic shift in the college football landscape.
Anyone with a brain knew Georgia would take a step back with Bobo calling plays and no Bowers to make him look good. Also hard to understate the impact Lanning and Muschamp had with our defense. That's coaching, not NIL.
Georgia knows its problems. Texas and OM are fine. Have no idea what the hell is going on at Auburn, Bama, Florida, LSU and UT.

Meh. It’s good for the sport to have good teams all over the country.
Agree. Especially fun when teams from all over the country meet up in bowl games or the playoff now. Having one conference or region dominate is boring. Reminds me of the Super Bowl a while back that featured two California teams. That was one of the few times that i didn’t even bother to watch.

SEC will always dominate due to geography of players. Those players will want to stay in warmer climates while closer to family and friends. But it’s not terrible to throw the rest of the country a bone every now and then….
By far, the best player in the state of Alabama will be playing for Oregon and playing strictly for the cash.

I wonder how many teams could get to where UGA got without their starting qb? zero

Again, Michigan & Ohio St have been the benefactors of convincing 4th & 5th yr players to return the past 2 seasons. Neither will be a factor in the national championship next season.
