Look at them convince themselves that they could go and get Deboer from Bama.. or Venables. There are even a few saying go get Lanning from Oregon

LSU shattered their brains.

Clemson is a respectable program with multiple national titles in football during the 21st century.

Something only 4 SEC programs can say.

They are closer to an Arkansas than an Alabama.

They had to cheat with Ford and Dabo.

The glue holding that thing together was 100% Venables . Their downfall started with his departure.

Dabo isn’t getting fired….this year at least. But if he walks away and I’m AD for Clemson you call venables first, he’ll say no, but you gotta make him say no. After that I’d probably go towards Tony Elliot, played at Clemson, got his start coaching at Clemson, inherited a god awful Virginia program, had to get team through a really tough emotional setback, has virgina looking really good with limited resources and crazy Virginia code of conduct rules.

Clemson is probably somewhere in the auburn Florida fsu Miami Penn state neighborhood in college football historically. I’d say top 20 program, possibly top 15, definitely not top ten.

Miami- 5 Natties
Florida- 3 Natties
FSU- 3 Natties
Auburn- who knows, they will say like 44 or 45

Penn State yes ..they should not be there.

But no program is as close to UF as LSU...it is insane if compare it.

Clemson only won national titles by blasting their way through the paper tiger ACC to basically waltz into the Championship. Their last championship included battling conference foes of Louisville, Syracuse, Wake Forest, NC State, Boston College, Duke, and the high hurdle of Pitt in the ACC championship game.

That’s a pretty lazy talking point, they had a pretty tough schedule in 2016. Also fsu and usce were pretty good when Clemson started its rise. Dabo assembled a really good coaching staff early on and hit on a lot of recruits. Those mid teen teams are dragging everyone in cfb except uga osu bama lsu. No one else had the horses to keep up.

We’ve been saying it but why does everyone always seem so surprised?

They are saying that deboer sucks to much for bama and might get fired soon and they could pick him up after he gets fired. I don’t think that’s delusional

I’d also like to nominate Notre Dame and Texas Tech.

As crazy as it sounds, if Lanning goes 10-2 or 9-3 I could see him leaving for Clemson if the heat at Oregon starts going up
