Very well said and thought out. Ohio State is definitely an impressive win, especially considering coming back from being down big.
Who knows what that committee will favor...looking at SOS and wins, or looking at who each team lost to and where are those teams at that they lost to.

I meant Top 4.
Relax, the SEC will make it to the National Title Game one of these days.
Granted that when they do they will lose to a Big10 team, but at least they will get to participate.

So they have Miami as the #1 seed, which presumes they beat Notre Dame, so they have a 10-2 Notre Dame team as the 4 seed.
They also somehow have Indiana as the 3 and OSU as the 2. That presumes both win out in the regular season, so they also have a 2 loss Indiana as the 3 seed because OSU would need to beat them in the Big title game to be the 2 seed under this scenario ESPN has built
It looks like they have UGA winning the SEC as they are the highest ranked SEC team in their prediction. SO who is UGA losing to down the stretch? Ole Miss? If Ole Miss beats UGA, they're not missing the playoffs and I don't think UGA is necessarily getting to the SECCG with a 2nd loss to Ole Miss, yet Ole Miss isn't there. So I can only assume UGA would go undefeated down the stretch since Ole Miss isn't in this projection. Well, the problem here is they'd be 12-1, and they have them outside the top 4 over multiple 2 loss teams.
It looks like they also have Kentucky winning out the regular season and losing to UGA in the SEC CG
Like some of these game outcomes might happen but it is nearly impossible for the polls to work out like that if the outcomes do happen
The only logic they used was rank ordering 1 through 11 the teams by likelihood of making the playoffs by their metrics (assuming they used FPI) and then layered in the 5th best conference champion's likelihood (who happens to be BSU) as the 12 seed, not what they think the actual bracket will be. I don't think ESPN actually tries to predict the bracket until after the first CFP rankings come out.
There is no world in which the SEC champion isn't a top 4 seed.

All good points, espn is such arse yet probably given the most legitimacy in media. Their playoff predictor tool is pathetic as well. Anyone whose used it can attest

Every year they stack the playoffs with SEC teams. Every year the Big10 comes out on top

How the frick are they coming up with this shite?
Miami as #1 seed means that they would have beaten Notre Dame in the head-to-head matchup. Notre Dame would have 2 losses without quality wins to make up for it. SMU would be their only win against a ranked opponent, assuming SMU is still ranked by then. ND will still get into the playoff at 10-2, but they damn sure aren't going to be a top 4 seed with 2 losses.

Again, people need to actually look at how this was built - it was purely by rank ordering the likelihood of making the playoffs, simply 1 through 11 + the G5 with the highest likelihood (BSU).
They did not take into account who they actually think will win certain games, how that affects rankings, etc. It's another few weeks (IIRC, after the first CFP rankings are announced) before they start taking those sorts of things into account.

This is the problem with some half witted AI nonsense that gets generated. This ESPN proposed 12 team playoff

This projection might as well be meaningless...
Wake Forest is already #14 with a shite schedule left...well, a win over SMU would probably push them into the field
Also, Arizona and Northwestern could make jumps
Tennessee, Florida and Ole Miss aren't exactly eliminated yet either...
Many, many teams still alive
