Yes. We've got a long way to go, but a win this weekend gives us a lot of momentum

The SEC crowned conference champions for 59 seasons before a championship game was invented. So I assume they will continue to do so when we no longer have one.

I think it will be called tri-champs. No need to differentiate if there is no sec championship game.

It won’t be but it should be Bama and Florida. The classic first game in 92 set the SEC in motion.

I think the last time there was a tie was 1989, Bama, UT, and Auburn finished 6-1 and they had each beaten each other.

Bama won the tie breaker for the Sugar Bowl via them and Tennessee having beat the next highest team, Ole Miss, who Auburn didn’t play. and then Bama beating Tennessee.

Wasn't the tie-breaking decision that Bama had the Vandy win? They scheduled an extra SEC game for a reason.

They all went 6-1, not sure what you’re getting at, might be thinking of another year.

Seemed like a good chance only 2 1/2 weeks ago.

If the SECCG goes away and is replaced with some sort of CFP play-in game, my suggestion would be for head-to-head to be the first tiebreaker. If that doesn't work, the second tiebreaker should be the highest ranked team in the final CFP poll.

Having co-champions was always goofy. In 2025, for example, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Georgia and Alabama all would've been the "SEC champ."
