I would actually argue that the 2012 Alabama-LSU game in Baton Rouge ended up mattering more. That was the game where LSU officially lost parity with Alabama. The series really hasn't been the same since.

do you suppose it could cause a guy to give up on his own team entirely, and settle for cheering another team beating the team you are obsessed about?
It's academic anyway, because Alabama actually has a national title winning coach that is capable of correcting mistakes, not to mention that Alabama is 2&2 vs Clemson that last 4 games, and LSU is 0&4 vs Alabama.

Really? LSU won a regular season game, then lost the national championship game, yet they were the champions? So if OKst had played LSU, FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP, and won, LSU would still be the champion?

No, OkSt would be because it would have been their first shot (which they earned; they got screwed so bad and would have given us a game like Oregon and WVU).

Who should've been there instead? OK St that lost to Iowa St(lol), Oregon(2 losses), Stanford( beaten by OK St), Arky(beat Kansas St). That was the final BCS poll.

The fact that LSU fans still act like they have some claim to the 2011 title despite being blown out in the NC game is what is truly hilarious. Between this and the frantic, nonstop Clemson dick sucking, y’all are the comedy gift that keeps on giving.
