Competition is good for the award. Hopefully it will get even more eyeballs in the future. I can be happy for someone else to win it, even if it is Tennessee.
Gotta give credit where it is due.

Tennessee has been 70's era Florida bad for a decade now. I went to the Florida/Kentucky football game in Gainesville...they were losing to Kentucky while the fans in the stands spent the whole game chanting "It's great...to hate...Florida State" (who would kick the shite out of UF 3 weeks later). That's the type of apathy UT has had towards the all-sports trophy over the last 15 years or so...for a lot of the same reason.

Yeah that didn't happen.

We played Kentucky the 2nd game of the season (Sep 10) and FSU after Thanksgiving (Nov 25) It's closer to 3 months.
And they won by 7 points at their place. I don't know the definition of an arse kicking in Kentucky, but that ain't it. FSU scored last to win it. It was a good game.

LSU is 2-10 against Bama in the past 12 games. That's sooooo much better.
40-13 in Red Stick. 21-10-3. GFY.

Josh the Heupel did an amazing job reshaping the roster w 30 something transfers out of the program in his first offseason. Raised the bar for every team in transition.
The last few miles are always the toughest though.

Don't sell UT short, you've been National Inbreeding Champions for like 300+ years now.

Amen, especially with Bama and UGA on the schedule

Louisiana, particularly in the southern part of the state, was known as a place where isolation and inbreeding over the centuries had produced clusters of rare diseases.

It absolutely happened. It was November 1977 and they played in Gainesville. My father is a UK alum and we were driving to Ocala to spend the week with my grandparents. Dad wanted to stop by and watch the game. We got tickets for next to nothing. Besides the chant, the thing that stuck out to me...Florida fans could sail cup lids like frisbees from the top of the stadium onto the field. That part was freaking amazing. Derrick Ramsey was QB for Kentucky (he went on to be a TE in the NFL for nearly a decade).

I was talking about 70s era Florida...it's right there in my post.

In '77, FSU played UF 3 weeks after the UK game and beat UF by 28...which is the definition of an arse kicking.

It's historic for UT. More than good, they are writing books about it. It's a shame. We were elite under Richt and I didn't even know it.
UGA Football title
UGA baseball no post season
UGA softball super (swept)
M Basketball no post season
W Basketball second round bounce
Maybe UGA should change their logo to a 1 trick pony

This is an incredibly sensible post. I'm not sure you belong on tRant tho.

No problem...I wasn't clear on my post on the year I was there. To this day, I am still puzzled at how Florida fans could sail cup lids from the top of a stadium all the way down onto the field. It was freaking amazing.
