In the last 6 months Tennessee has had teams:

Win NY6 Bowl
Men's Sweet 16 Birth
Women's Sweet 16 Birth
Women's CWS
Men's CWS

Compare this to where UT was 5 years ago:

4-8 Football (of course, no bowl)
Men's Basketball - 2nd round loss to Loyola-Chicago
Women's Basketball - 2nd round loss to Oregon State
Softball - Swept in Georgia Super Regionals
Baseball - Did not make post-season (including SEC tourney)

Has the dumpster fire been somewhat extinguished?

I don't know. Let's compare to Florida in each category over the same period.

NY6 Win - UT yes; UF No
Men's Sweet 16 - UT Yes; UF No
Women's Sweet 16 - UT Yes; UF No
WCWS - UT Yes; UF No
MCWS - UT Yes; UF Yes

So no titles for either program then? Thanks.

Also I remember when y'all said winning a NY6 bowl wasn't worth celebrating.

Let’s compare Texas vs Tennessee last 5 years

Playoffs - TX 0 TN 0
M Elite 8 - TX 1 TN 0
W Elite 8 - TX 2 TN 0
WCWS Wins - TX 4 TN 2
MCWS Wins - TX 3 TN 0

Texas hasn’t been all that. You need to raise the bar.

Pretty good does not equal excellent
6 Months does not equal 5 years

The point of my post is that the last 6 months is significantly BETTER than what UT has done over the last 5 year...so, if you want to compare the two UT's over the period set in the title of the thread...ok.

Last 6 Months (since 12/13/22)
NY6 Bowl win - UT Yes; UTx No
Men's Elite 8 - UT No; UTx Yes (both made Sweet 16)
Women's Sweet 16 - UT Yes; UTx No
WCWS - UT Yes; UTx No (Lost in the Knoxville Super Regionals)
MCWS - UT Yes; UTx No

It's historic for UT. More than good, they are writing books about it. It's a shame. We were elite under Richt and I didn't even know it.

Ok...if Heupel is Tennessee's Richt, I can accept that. Personally, I believe that Pruitt left the cupboard more bare at UT than Donnan did at UGA...(Donnan's last team was 8-4 and Pruitt's was 3-7). If we go the next 16 seasons and are 45 games over .500 in conference like Richt did, that would be significantly better than the last 16 years.

Tennessee is doing great, and I hate having to admit that because I am not a fan of your athletic director.

Tennessee wins 2nd consecutive SEC All-Sports Trophy

I usually make a thread about the SEC all sports trophy, but I have been busy.
