Well, of course it is. Nobody would dispute that.
I’d still rather win the SEC than get bounced early in the tournament, and If you’re good enough to win the SEC, you’re probably more likely to have the type of team to make a serious run in the big dance.

Maybe it's just me, but getting to the dance far outweighs any conference titles. We've won one tourney, but had to have it to get to the dance. I believe Georgia did that as well. I guess it's as important as one wants to make it.
But if those conference champ banners are important to a team then by all means hang the hat on them.
