1. 2019 LSU (15-0) All-Time Season Score: 34.7300 Key Season Score Element: 726 points Best Win: LSU 42, Clemson 25 (CFP National Championship) Worst Game: LSU 23, Auburn 20 Some national champions played more tough games, but no one ever did this with the flair, the scoring, and against SO many amazing teams. 2019 LSU beat the four preseason top four-ranked teams, and it rolled through big game after big game against one of the toughest schedules of all-time. At Texas? Got it. At Alabama? Survive and advance. LSU beat Sugar Bowl champion Georgia, Big 12 champion Oklahoma, and ACC and Peach Bowl winner Clemson all away from Baton Rouge. But that wasn’t enough. The Tigers beat Orange Bowl champion Florida. They beat Auburn and Texas A&M, too. The 15 wins tied 2018 Clemson – welcome to the College Football Playoff era – and were only one behind 1894 Yale. The 726 points were the most scored by any national champion in the history of college football, and again, they came against a schedule that was next-level brutal. By the way, this ranking isn’t just a function of the day and age – had Clemson won the 2019 national championship, it would’ve finished just inside the top ten. It all worked out for the SEC Tigers – 2019 LSU had the greatest season of all-time. Wins (15): Georgia Southern (55-3), at Texas (45-38), Northwestern State (65-14), at Vanderbilt (66-38), Utah State (42-6), Florida (42-28), at Mississippi State (36-13), Auburn (23-20). at Alabama (46-41), at Ole Miss (58-37), Arkansas (56-20), Texas A&M (50-7), Georgia (37-10, SEC Championship), Oklahoma (63-28, CFP Playoff/Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl), Clemson (42-25, CFP National Championship) Losses (0): None Quality Wins (10): Georgia Southern, at Texas, Utah State, Florida, Auburn, at Alabama, Texas A&M, Georgia, Oklahoma, Clemson Elite Wins (5.5): Florida, at Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, Clemson Bad Wins (3): Northwestern State, at Vanderbilt, Arkansas Points For: 726 Points Against: 328

2018 Clemson was ranked number 3.

Clemson had a 2 point win against Texas A&M who was like the 5th best SEC team that year and only won due to help from the refs.

Then they barely escaped Syracuse by 4 points.

They beat Alabama because they were able to expose Tua with the defenses(Take away his explosive plays and he can't drive a field, thank Miss St), and then Clemson picked on Savion Smith until he left in the 3rd quarter. 100% out coached.

Wow, that's one of the worst lists I've ever seen.

I never thought I would see the day that people would argue that playing better teams made the accomplishments lesser than beating shitty teams.

Well, nobody who has any football sense would do that... which explains this thread.

LSU fans just need to accept that they were the SECOND team in 2 years to reach 15-0. Someone else will probably do it next year. It’s nothing to go crazy over

Clearly losing to 2 15-0 teams is something to go crazy over

One of the biggest hits Tua took against Clemson was to his hip (which was injured again last season), just brutal. Burrow took a beating against Clemson too, but primarily in the first half iirc

Of course, that was before we knew how much Tua’s injured ankle would be a factor. It was clear from the first snap that he was far from 100%. Probably like 60%-70%

Still almost won

Luck was on your side

You mean when you drove down the field before Tua just coughed up a football in a completely non- ankle related way?

It was like his ankle transmitted a message to his hand to start playing fumblitis

He flinched from the pain, and that caused the fumble.

LSU got lucky. Congrats on beating an injury-plagued Alabama with a hobbled QB by 5 points. It’s LSU’s single greatest accomplishment

You can dIsagree with the list, but the ultimate conclusion on number 1 is solid.

Bleacher Report (I know, its Bleacher Report) reached the same conclusion at to number 1.

Clemson beat an Alabama team that throughly dominated Burrow in Baton Rouge 29-0. Enough said.
