Freeze was/is about as hypocritical as they come. Watching Finebaum help him get public redemption with all those interviews hasn't worked out as he planned, but I have to say he was giving it all he had.

People talk about Freeze but Matt Luke was worse. He hated Mississippi State and his players played dirty.

I will always believe he put a bounty on Fitz that year they broke his leg.

It has been refreshing having two coaches that aren't like that. I know the game will be hard fought, but I don't see either of these coaches pulling that crap.

As far as the cheating goes, NIL monies have made that not necessary.

Good god this sounds like it came straight from EliteDawgs. No way Fitz was on purpose. Go watch the video. It was bad luck. The hookers weren't for recruits. And State cheats just as much as OM does. Post less.

Major? He was very involved in trying to buy Cam Newton’s services. I’m also pretty sure he was granted immunity for a few of his indiscretions in exchange for giving the NCAA information about Ole Miss. Hell, for a while there, I think State was holding the NCAA’s hand during their Ole Miss investigation.

This shite again?

State didn't get involved in trying to buy Cam Newton. That's why he didn't go to State...he went to Auburn. A "handler" reached out to John Bond to tell him what it was going to take to sign Cam, and State reported it to the SEC, who did nothing.

Facts mean nothing to idiots, but it's important to set the record straight for the millionth time on this.

This again? Look, frick Matt Luke and his fat fricking worthless lazy arse. But, the leg that didn't get hit was the one that snapped.

State fans thing everything OM does is immoral and evil. Its a classic symptom of little brother syndrome. Its a lot of we are the "good" ones and they are the "bad" ones. This thread has a lot of that in it.

State is clean and everyone else cheats right? That how you see college football? I wish I could still see football like a 12 year old.

Calm down Winthorp. Loosen your ascot, take a sip of your Zima, and try not to trigger so easy.

When Mullen won his third In a row against Ole Miss, and got on the PA at Davis Wade and announced "We are never losing to them again," it angered the Ole Miss network.

That was the moment that the rivalry went toxic. Mullen/Freeze were terrible for civility, but Moorhead/Luke were awful human beings and over their heads as SEC coaches. This resulted in mid-game fights, the pissing in the end zone, etc. These were awful human beings in charge of SEC football programs where the toxic level was already raised.

Moorhead almost came to blows with an Ole Miss official after an Egg Bowl in Oxford. The next year was the piss and miss. The best thing that happened to the Egg Bowl rivalry was Elijah Moore crawling those ten years and simulating a dog pissing in the back of the end zone - it literally led to both coaches being fired. Luke for performance and Moorhead for just not being an effective leader.

Leach and Kiffin are definitely big characters, but they aren't toxic. The rivalry is fun again. Southern Miss is irrelevant again. Big things on the horizon for the Mississippi schools.

What has Matt Luke done to make you call him an awful human being?

Albert Means on line 1.

Paul Bryant Jr on line 2

The only thing Mullen did was stir the pot with the fans. His current demise only amplifies just how much he hated being involved with recruiting. I wish I could say the same for Fereeze.

Why are you worried about MS teams anyway? That's Green Bay pissing and moaning about Detroit.

tNetwork

It was definitely Mullen's comments about never losing to Ole Miss again that got tNetwork started back up. It couldn't possibly have been the fact Ole Miss was a combined 6-18 in 2010 and 2011.

An Egg Bowl Mississippi State won by 32 points, no less.

I’m just loving the low-drama atmosphere. The coaches are friends. The players are chill. Completely different atmosphere.
This.

I love that Kiff and tPirate seem to respect, admire, and even like each other. Doesn't make the rivalry any less intense or competitive.

I do miss the annual pre- and/or post-game brawls though. I lived in MS when the HCs were King Jackie and Tubs. Talk about some serious hatred
