The last season before everything changed.

A lot of things have changed since then especially with the addition of both South Carolina and Arkansas in 1992 and Missouri and Texas A&M.

LINK

What an interesting time, for sure.

But very good in Basketball.

It never changes with them.

They will always be the SEC's saving grace as far as that sport goes.

Nothing like only having to worry about 10 teams back then.

Feel free to use that particular interface as well. Just hit "previous year" or "next year" to push further back in history, or ahead to 2016.

I just find college football history intriguing. So many great seasons and so much to talk about historically.

Alabama played in the "Blockbuster Bowl" that year.

And we complain about Bowl "names" still in 2016.

GT left the conference in the 60's, took Kentucky into the 90's to catch them in conference wins.

They still don't have as many conference titles as GT...or Tulane

actually 6

UGA won the title in 1980 without having to play the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place teams

Wish Georgia Tech was still in the SEC.

That was a mistake of epic proportions.

Vandy and Georgia Tech would be awesome to have in the SEC at the same time.

frick that I'm glad we don't have to face a gimmicky offense plus it's not like Tech brings anything to the table $ wise. ATL is already SEC territory

From what my parents tell me, it was a place to get movies from.

I always laugh when they talk about these things.

I honestly don't know.

Why would you want Ga Tech back in the conference?

The mistake was theirs.

Nature took care of things and put things in their natural order. Ga Tech belonged in the ACC and South Carolina (flagship university) belonged in the SEC.

FSU belonged in the ACC and Arkansas (flagship university) belonged in the SEC.

Wtf? Bama went 11-1, and that put them in the blockbuster bowl?

Things were different back then.

There were only newspapers and radios.

No instantaneous "anything".

If you wanted a "quick response" you would have to write a letter and wait for about three days.

Or, just call someone on a landline phone with about 90 ft of cord (if you valued your privacy).

No cordless phones back then.

Times sure have changed.

You probably wish your HS sweetheart would come back to you too huh? She looks good retrospectively, was an easy lay, no worries in your life back then ... until she dumped you.

Ga Tech dumped the SEC because they were pussies. Need you be reminded of why they left?

And you want them back?

South Carolina definitely brings more fine pussy to the table than Ga Tech.
