Trick is to win the battle at the line like LSU did at Oregon.

We'll be starting 2 freshmen regardless (Chad Slade and Reese Dismukes).

I'd rather Westerman start in place of Cooper because Cooper plas like a freshman anyways.

Malzahn will frick miss st defense up.

Burgess > Westerman at this point, I don't think we can have Westerman playing right now.

So do I. Last time we had 2 freshman starting on the line we lost to state, but I don't see Cooper being the x-factor that gets us the win after he was tossed around against USU.

Relf might have been the only QB NOT to throw for over 300 yards against our defense last year.

He didn't have to heck he ran for about 100yds. I think we had over 500 total yds of offense vs OM

Doubt it

It might get ugly on the plains this weekend

I just hope the Aubbies I sit next to in the game can deal with it

I agree with this. That is what Auburn did all of last year and also what stopped Oregon from getting in a flow in the NC game. Without controlling the LOI you usually will not win. Except of course it's against Utah State, then you can lose that battle all day long and pull out a miracle.

The coaches aren't telling the DB's to let them catch the ball and then tackle them. As a DB, if you're running with a man you don't turn your head unless you are in his back pocket and can keep a hand on him to make sure he doesn't break his route off. We haven't had guys fast/good enough to do this so they've done the alternative, run as fast as you can, keep your eyes on the WR's eyes and when they get big or his hands go up you just swat and hope you hit the ball.

First and foremost, Auburn will have to replace 206 yards (Cam Newton) out of 348 total yards gained on State's D last year. Auburn and Cam didn't score in the second half against State last year. This game could be more defensive than most think.

Neither team played a real defense last week. State hasn't played one since Bama last year. Auburn still looking for their identity on offense.

Have you seen how much of a difference there is when watching Auburn's DBs versus, say, Bama and LSU's? When you watch LSU, no matter what, there's always 2-3 guys around the ball. They're all in position to make a play, and 95% of the time they do make the play. Ours look lost on every play.

We need to be much more aggressive, period. Man-to-man, blizting, going for picks, solid tackles, etc... Jam those fricking WRs at the line and make them earn a route.

I dont think man to man is going to work very well.

This is the first time since Mullen has been at MSU we have players on the outside.

If you like D, you might not want to watch this one.

The game will be close regardless.

We've got Zeke coming in next year and another big QB coming in 13. We'll be fine.
