I remember this game like yesterday. Lsu had several opportunities to put this game away. I blamed mostly all of it on the kicker. All he had to do was keep the ball in bounds.

2012 is the one I’m still not over. We were the best team in the country.
They lost 3 games that year, best team in the country??
One LSU fan posted on here quoting that 2022 was an impressive year for Kelly and LSU because they went to the SEC championship game with 3 losses and then got blown out by Georgia to end the season with 4 losses. It was a down year and the following year two teams in the west division jumped ahead of LSU in the west division standing. I would be shocked if LSU ended with 2 losses or less this coming season. I predict 3 regular season losses.

Alabama Cb was holding the WR hands on last play.

Ok, mulligan boy
The people who decided Alabama was one of the top two teams in the country that year look pretty smart. Legend has it that the vote to give Alabama a mulligan was 21-0.

I swear I could start a thread about the next hurricane about to hit the Gulf Coast and Rain Man here could find a way to inject Brian Kelly into the thread.

Much like hurricane about to hit Gulf Coast LSU program will be destroy by bad hired made by Brian Kelly. I will be shocked if you win one game in next season. Compare to Drunktitz who did not have any talents at Mizzou but has recruited many talents to Mizzou. Brian Kelly have not winned anything so far at LSU and I am saying that will not changed anytime soon!

Also gave Fournette a preview of the rest of his career against Bama

Well they decided to flat out quit and declare for the draft after the 3rd quarter of the Peach Bowl

I rarely if ever rewatch games from 2008-2016.
Outside of a select few I agree; just aesthetically displeasing football
2008: Auburn
2009: UGA
2010: Bama, Florida
2011 was obviously fun. Really everything but the 1st halves of Kentucky/Arky/UGA, obviously don’t count mulligans.
2012: USCe
2013: Auburn
2014: OM
2015: Auburn, UF
2016: State, Mizzou

I was there with one of my sons and we were so excited at the time of the fumble. Then we watched the inevitable happen. So sad!

Trust me this has not been forgotten.
The minute we kicked off out of bounds I knew we would lose.

The way LSU lost the 2008, 2012, and 2014 Alabama games was absolutely gut wrenching. It was fricking exhausting all that to say 21-0 was in between the years.
Those were all even years which means it all happened in Baton Rouge. Don't forget BAMA wins in 2016 and 2018 and 2020, also in our second home. .

In other words, the better team lost? AL had another fluke win?

How the frick LSU didn’t win this one I’ll never know, but it gets forgotten about amongst all the close games
Bama simply had LSU mind fricked after 2012.

Even though we won a lot of games it just felt like we were capable of so much more.
This is how Miles legacy will always be defined to me. I’m very grateful for what he accomplished but man it feels like we left a lot on the table because he couldn’t get out the way and adapt to the modern game.
I’ll always credit saban for that. He was willing to change the way he played offense. Miles never could, even with all the talent we had at skill positions on those rosters.

The resiliency of those Bama teams was truly unbelievable.
What gets lost in Saban’s run was not how dominant they were - but honestly how they overcame adversity so fricking regularly and just did not blink.
Turning the ball over with 70 seconds left inside the 10? Most teams just quit. Held them to a field goal and drove down the field to tie it with 30 seconds left. Unreal composure.

Les Miles was actually a really great coach
This is the worst take I’ve seen this year on the SEC Rant.
I didn’t know there were any Les Miles defenders left, but here you are.

Miles and Saban both had massive egos.
The difference is Saban wanted to win more than he wanted to be right.
