Sure this is no Cash Cab. It wasn't intended to be. It was literally a 5 minute throw-away fark that anybody can do much like this one:



They are basically editorial cartoons of relevant time-sensitive headlines, only done in photoshop, but more like the kind you see in chain emails.

But for some reasons, my stills photoshops get graded next to my resume' of GIFs. "I smiled, but its' no Cash Cab!" or "Didn't laugh. He's done better. Especially that Terrelle Pryor one"

Don't get me wrong. I'm not asking you to like or laugh at this one, or any of them. I had a laugh thinking about the Pope face-palming himself into retirement, and thought I'd share.

But I'm just curious if Chicago Tribune editorial cartoonist Jeff McNelly's previous gut-busting work ever get in the way of people having a daily chuckle. I know it didn't for me.

If I laughed , I laughed. If I didn't, I didn't. But I didn't go, "His Bosnia cartoon last year was much funnier than his North Korean one today."

So I don't understand the thinking. Can someone explain? Maybe I need an alter for posting stills?

how about i just never comment on any of your stuff again whether i laugh or not? i didn't realize this was going to be some big deal quite honestly- as i've seen others give their opinion before. i do think you're way more often than not awesome at this type of thing.

Oh don't get me wrong. You found it very meh. That's cool. I'm not judging your taste or humor.

But I've always been curious & wanted to ask someone about the "expectation" part where my previous work may have possibly influenced their Meh to Very Meh.

Does the resume' get in the way of funny?

The short answer is he's an Arkansas fan. The long answer is he's an Arkansas fan that thinks that that simple fact bestows on him the ability to deem things worthy. He obtained that ability, not because he himself is funny or good at using photo editing software, but because he's an entitled stupig who has a keyboard.

You can't expect your True Lies to get the same praise when you already made the Terminator and Rambo, Freek.

you're already part wrong in your hypothesis and it's the first sentence of your paragraph.

You were being a dick. Freek's concept was pretty damned witty and did not require a photo shop job to fool forensics to make it funny. The humor is in the concept.

If you don't think it's funny, commenting on it is just being rude. It's plain ol' bad manners - even on the rant. Now you are called out on it... don't make it worse.
