The rest of the SEC been saying the end was near for Alabama since Wallace Wade left in 1930..

Alabama is Alabama and they aren’t going anywhere

UGA isn't really that active in the transfer portal, right? I think I heard 90% of their players in 2025 committed to Georgia out of high school.

Kirby is just the best coach and culture builder in America right now. I actually found myself rooting for UGA toward the end of this season because of it.

Exactly the better teams with players remaining will be less reliant of the portal. Ex. LSU sucked and got rid of the sucky players and were seeking via the portal to supplemnt their recruiting classes for players who can compete now versus investing 2 years to get them up to speed after HS.

List the 3 teams with the most money to spend and you have the elite teams. Thats the name of the game now. So, Texas, ATM, and then who else?

What if it’s Vanderbilt? Surely they have multiple billionaire alum, all it takes is to get one of them interested in fb

I'd agree with Georgia but Texas has to prove it and LSU is a middle of the road program like they have been throughout their history.
Texas does still have something to prove. But calling LSU a middle of the road program is ridiculous.

The Texas football program is profitable enough to contribute surplus funds to academics every year.

No reason to get worked up over something that won't last long.

Let's be real..dynasties are done. No depth can be held now beyond a few positions. Teams that have a ton of money for NIL, coaches, facilities, etc will do better at being stable, but most years it will be weird now. It is like pro sports with less talent, insane instability..and yes I will def watch...because there will be a ton of close games.

The transfer portal allows teams to go from bad to good very quickly and it also bites the other way as well. Miss on a portal class and you can quickly go from the penthouse to the outhouse.

There aren't any "elite" teams in the SEC right now. Georgia isn't an "elite" team and I hope you really don't think they are. They're very good, but very good isn't "elite". There weren't any elite teams in the SEC the year before either. The CFP showed that.

Money and money alone doesn't guarantee success. There are a lot of teams who have spent a crap load of money on rosters who either never made the CFP or got bounced in the first round. Money doesn't guarantee performance.

I’d have to put A&M in there too. They have money to spend.

Aggies are very weird...they have a ton of money and very supportive fanbase..but they achieve almost nothing. Makes no sense at all.

Georgia and LSU. Both their coaches seem to understand NIL.

Texas has yet to prove they can hire a coach who can win a big game in the last 20 years so I’m gonna respectfully disagree there. With all the NIL benefits, you need a coach who knows how to do it , like Indiana’s.

Until Texas can prove they can have their boosters get out of their own way I don’t see how people keep ranking them as elite.

Agree that the Ags have underperformed for years.

Aggies have not had a coach that builds a program since Sherrill. There is a long list of coaches between Sherrill and Elko. We will see what Elko can do.

There was also an interesting article last year about how the current AD positions himself between big money donors and Elko (running interference) so that may have been a big issue in the past.

Time will tell.
