Back to 1984 again:
Kentucky and Auburn met in the SEC Championship game at Memorial Gym in Nashville. The two teams battled back and forth in a tough, emotional game, with Auburn attempting to grab their first ever SEC basketball Championship of any kind. Fate would not be kind, however, as a Kenny Walker jump shot with 2 seconds left on the clock left Kentucky with a 51-49 win. After the final buzzer, Charles Barkley sat down on the floor, head in hands, and cried like a baby for what seemed to be forever until his coach came over to console him.

Interestingly, although he was MVP and a Hall of Fame inductee and only the fourth player, at the time, to reach 20,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 4000 assists for his career, he never won a championship. His teams reached the finals 4 times, but could never win the series.

Let's be respectful please. Without basketball, Kentucky is basically Vanderbilt, except dumber.

Not saying he isn't a great player, but I'm no fan of his.

I remember them well. Coach Eaves was totally white haired and his team had NO height. They ran the "Auburn shuffle" and were a terror in a league that had some fine teams around at the time. Coach Eaves was a very close friend of my uncle and I've never meet a finer gentleman.

If he hadn't broke his leg before the 1982 season, he would have been one of the greatest post players of all time. As a freshman and sophomore, he resembled Anthony Davis a lot with his ability to defend and go to the basket with the ball.
