Either he is not as good as you guys think

He is wildly overrated on this board. People thinking he would succeed at a major program are delusional. He has tried to leave for better jobs and been rejected because he's a weirdo and a mediocre coach. His record is inflated by playing an awful non conference schedule plus Kentucky every year

O may be the Cajun Les Miles.

On defense, yes (O is a defensive coach).
But he'll let Canada and Ensminger run the offense.

In 2016, Ensminger was OC, and under him, LSU averaged over 38 points per game and 500+ yards of offense. Hopefully Canada can continue this.

Yes, but do you have another Heisman contender like Jeremy Johnson?

Let's hope not...

His record is also "deflated" by playing in the hardest CFB division, in the era when it has probably been it's hardest. Bama, Auburn, and LSU all are going to outrecruit MSU on name alone. Ole Miss has been paying 5 stars. A&M is in Texas and has been capitalizing on the "Texas school in the SEC" recruiting pitch. He's got a team basically locked into the slot of 6-7 most talented team in the division, and he's still found success.

He hasn't been able to find any program willing to pay him what MSU pays him, admittedly.
The rest is just terrible opinion

If anything, the coaching talent in the "little 8" programs is the best it has ever been. The problem is how bad (or at least unproven) it is in the "Big 6" programs.

And those two scenarios are a direct product of each other. If your lower tier schools like MSU, OM, UK, etc have good coaching and can compete with the Big 6, those Big 6 schools are going to have a lot of coaching turnover. Every single Big 6 program has realistic fan expectations that their coach should be in the title hunt every year, and actually win a title every 3-4 years. That is not possible when teams like MSU and OM are winning 10 games. So turnover at the top leads to quality at the bottom, and quality at the bottom leads to turnover at the top.

The next two seasons will tell the tale with Mac- both on the field (Florida should be a playoff contender in 2018) and off (Florida will likely have back-to-back top 3-5 classes in 18 and 19).

the only thing I disagree with (but just slightly) is Muschamp - I think he got a raw deal at UF

Explain this. Seriously, look at the coach who preceded him and the one that followed him and explain how Boom's performance merited more time. If anything Foley gave Boom too much slack.

Yea, I wouldn't say Champ got a "raw deal" at Florida. However, I do think there is a chance he could be a decent head coach. It just kind of went bad at Florida and felt like a neverending cycle that he wasn't going to break out of.

It certainly wasn't Florida's fault for firing him, he earned it with his performance. I think he could be decent at South Carolina though. Time will tell.
