If y’all don’t beat Georgia you ain’t gettting in if both Ohio and Oklahoma win

If Bama loses, there is no way the committee leaves them out if their job is to take the "top 4" teams in the nation. Anyone, even LSU, that says Bama is not one of the top 4 teams is delusional.

conference championships either mean something or they don't

Really a shame that UGA crapped the bed in Baton Rouge. Otherwise Nick and Kirby could have gone out for beers this week and made a handshake agreement to sit everybody and play the JV on national TV since the loser would be getting the 4 seed anyway. No need to risk injury or show each other anything when you're playing again in a month.

Agreed.
Bama losing to the #4 team means they probably aren't a top 4 team.

Can anyone point to any portion of the season where Oklahoma or Ohio State looked better than Alabama?
Does last week count? OSU was up 30 most of the second half
Outside of that one game no I don’t think OSU or OU has looked comparable to Bama honestly

And neither do you.
You are assuming the think the SEC is better than the B10 or B12. They haven’t said that!
You are making assumptions.
I’m just pointing out, that everyone keep saying the mission says 4 best teams... well it doesn’t!! That’s what ESPN says and promotes.
The mission says to take everything into consideration, including; and the very first thing stated is; conference championships.
Just because you dont like it , doesn’t matter!

12-1, OU, tOSU, & Bama... then you have to look at who accomplished what; I would say winning your conference would be pretty high up there. Just because anyone thinks a team looks better in their eyes; doesn’t mean it’s accurate.
We saw what Auburn did to Washington. Then Washington lost to a 4 loss Oregon and a 4 loss Cal. Do you really believe Washington belongs in the playoffs just because they won the PAC 12?
DJS and I disagree vehemently at times, but we are spot on on this subject.

I actually should say we disagree on some things strongly, but we do seem to agree on a lot of stuff, too.

Their top 25 tells us what they think.

Better to argue about 7,8,9,&10 instead of 2,3,&4.
But nobody is arguing about 2,3, and 4.
Most people think Clemson, ND and one of Oklahoma or OSU will be in. The question is if Alabama will be in if they get beat.
now, I think, reasonably so, that Alabama wins today. But the problem comes because some people just don't like Alabama. That is what it boils down to. they don't have a problem with Oklahoma or OSU making the playoffs with 1 loss. They just don't want Alabama to go with 1 loss, which is silly.
But those same people know, intellectually, that Alabama is better than OSU or Oklahoma.
What it all boils down to is this. If you hate Alabama...or if you have Alabama fatigue....then beat Alabama. Until then, they will probably be one of the four best teams in the country and, as such, should be in the playoffs.
I don't know if they will get there, or not. I can't read the committees' minds....but if they put Alabama in, then I couldn't argue with their decision.

This is a fair assessment. It might be that OSU is peaking at just the right time. I honestly believe it will be tough for them to make the playoffs....but if they do, they could make things very, very interesting.

Well for example if team A (the best team) beats team B (the fourth best team), it has already been determined that team A > team B. So Team C (the fifth best team) should get their shot at team A. Because in real life, we can’t really definitively say who’s the best, second best etc.
Plus you have the case where Team A beats Team B in the regular season. Then team B beats Team A in the playoff. Why is the second game more important than the first? Shouldn’t they play a third time?
But you’re an Alabama fan so I’m sure all that will go over your head

Probably the same way you justify a team that loses by 29 to a 6-6 unranked team deserves to be in over a team that loses to a #4 ranked team?

Because the teams that get to play for the Natty are all arguably the best teams in the nation, they don't have any teams in the hunt who got lucky in one game and got into the mix by a fluke...

but the winner of the conference championship game is NOT the best team in the conference?
The way Conference Championship games are set up, a mediocre team in a weak division gets positioned to have one good game and earn the Conference Title...by your and Displaced's "logic", Northwestern somehow wins today, that equates to them being the best team in the Big 10 for example and we all know this is not the case.
