I think Russell had zero carries in the 4th quarter and zero after the penalty negated his run for 20+ yards.
This from a team that had an inability to run the ball, when a guy actually had explosive runs we need to bench him and give someone else a try.

I'd rather they call set plays with no delay on the exchange. That delay allows whomever on defense is coming through unblocked to blow up the play. Let the backs and linemen know who's getting the ball and quicken the pace. The play action to the tight end worked well.
If we're going to be an option team, though, go all in as you say. Bring back the flexbone. At least then, we'll run 20 plays we know well instead of having 100 plays for 100 situations that all go half-assedly.

Play calling in the 2nd half was really good until we got behind. I honestly don't understand the play calls if you know you will probably punt if you don't pick it up... If that is the mentality, then mix it up and try to sustain a drive. Granted, if I remember right we dropped two balls on that last series. (I could be wrong, I am still furious 3 days later).
But punting there after your defense just gave up a long drive is just COWARDLY!!!!!
