bama's always gonna be good but they've now lost the aura of invincibility. With the new, harder conference schedule coming up, they will not go undefeated again; nor will many other teams, either.

I’m old enough to remember them falling out of the spotlight after Bear. Won a championship with Stallings though. They were pretty irrelevant for a while after that.
That said, I see them mirroring the post-Saban era at LSU. Things are set up for grass eaters to win NC’s there. This might (see below) happen. Maybe a couple times, regardless of the coach.
But more concerning is that they’re giving Saban an office in the stadium. He’ll be close to the program. This is not a good thing. He’ll meddle. Regardless of how great he is, this is detrimental to the program.
