"The Blind Side" is a great story and good PR for Ole Miss. How did they screw that up?

I mean, a school that has had inconsistent (at best) success on the field finally gets a player that captures the imagination of the whole country, and then it gets all dirtied up with off-the-field dysfunction out there for all the world to see.

What kind of crappy arse program lets that happen to them in a situation like this?

You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I would like to note that I see you making fun of yourself and I appreciate it. Others here will jump down your throat though.

It was great PR for Ole Miss and it still is. Everyone who watched that movie 15 years ago still associates it with Ole Miss.

WTH does Ole Miss have to do with any of this current shite?

Doesn't have anything to do with Ole Miss. This is some family drama.

I know a lot of Ole Miss folks. Most are good people. But, they all have a bit of "my shite don't stink" that they try to suppress. But try as they might, they show their arse eventually.

The pinnacle of this was Archie's handling of Eli with the NFL draft.

Give me a good ole state land grant school boy any day, like Philip Rivers.

And yes, I know Eli won 2 Superbowls with NY. He's still just an arrogant a-hole who happened to win 2 Superbowls.

Touhys are just doing what Ole Miss folks do.

Ole Miss/Miss. St. just don't have the "recruiting grounds" that other SEEC schools have. That is why they have struggled to win the SEC. I think they do a good job with the hand they have been dealt.

The same thing that screwed up the greatest running back to ever come out of Mississippi, and might have been the greatest running back ever. Marcus Dupree

Bad advice from those people "that are looking out for him".

"You're a victim. You better do something about this. I'm going to have certain expenses to help you."

In Dupree's case it was a "preacher". Oher' case is just another snake lawyer.

That ain’t true. The state of MS produces a very good clip of NFL players, especially considering the population of the state. I would bet we are top 5 state in producing NFL players per capita.

The problem is we split the state with each other and then Alabama/LSU/other top schools compete heavily for the top rated recruits.

We each win our fair share of top 10 prospects and then inevitably a couple will go to Alabama, Georgia, LSU, auburn etc. nakobe dean, Derrick hall, jaheim oatis just to name a few that have been picked off the last few years

You could get every top player out of the state and still be behind the schools that can consistently recruit Fl. and Ga.. The per capita thing is useless when you can't get the numbers regarding top talent. Two of the top 100 come from Miss.. Mass. has that many. Zoo has two of the top 24 and three total.

The whole story was a farce. Just a rich booster steering a naive kid to his alma mater.

Obviously, and that’s where High Freeze came from that Briarcrest school.
