1. Reggie Bush
2. Adrian Peterson
3. Darren McFadden
4. Todd Gurley
5. Jonathan Taylor

Edit: Marcus Lattimore has to be considered.

The image is broke for me, or maybe blocked at work

but I already know its Mcfadden, and yeah he is maybe the best SEC back. I never got to see Walker play, but I dont know what more McFadden could have done. He was incredible.

I will say I would have loved to have seen Lattimore go injury free, he could have pushed Mcfadden.

He was not light years ahead of Chubb, Michel, and Gurley. Chubb was the best IMO.
Why is Michel in this conversation?

As good as he was, he isn’t even in the conversation with McFadden

None of those 3 would have seen the field on the DMac, Jones,Hillis team. After those 3 left, Smith the number 4 running back had consecutive 1000 yard seasons. Also Arkansas had no passing attack during that time so teams stacked the box with 8 or 9 on almost every play.

That's just an asinine statement.

You seriously think that Nick Chubb and Todd Gurley would have never seen the field on that team?

No offensive line and weak passing game.

So I suppose They would play ahead of Dmac and Jones. I doubt it.

Mac’s performance against Alabama in 2007 in the 2nd half was the most physical performance of his career I believe. Maybe not most in yards, but brought us back from a big deficit to force overtime. The offense was almost single-handedly on his back. Alabama knew we couldn’t pass and that he was getting it almost every play late. It was basically McFadden vs the entire Bama D. He finally got so fatigued/concussed he had to be taken
Y'all had no business beating us in 2007 with friggin casey Dick slinging the rock. Did even pass for a hundred. Mcfadden on the other hand went for 200+ with 3 TD's, just wouldn't let y'all lose

Another of his all time great games. Jones and Hillis had big games too, but you’re right the passing games was pretty much non existent.

No he even admitted below that he stands corrected and that he did have elite speed

He thought the guy who posted the combine speed for DMac was also talking about Knowshon. It’s pretty clear his entire post was about Knowshon. Apparently, most of the respondents have critically awful reading comprehension skills.

For the record…I believe Knowshons combine speeds were 4.68 and 4.72 or something like that.

DMac has been the most talented back I’ve seen in the SEC in the past 20 seasons. Has literally been the only back that I was terrified of getting into open field against us because he was so fast.

Henry was better in college than most want to give him credit for. He’s been an NFL beast for several seasons now.

Lattimore is my “what could have been” pick. That guy was an absolute monster. Seems a great person as well. I genuinely hated seeing him hurt.

Chubb is my homer pick. Just loved watching him run in college, pre-injury. Have watched him have that same form now in the NFL…and he’s seems like a genuinely good dude.

The SEC has never had a shortage of great backs. Lots of arguments to be made for a lot of different backs.

I saw Darren McFadden play against Alabama in Bryant-Denny back in 2005. He picked up yardage against us that day and I remember being so frustrated by the fact that this freshman kept getting outside against our elite defense. Little did I know...

McFadden only had 45 carries in his first five as I guess due to his youth and inexperience,

That's on Houston Nutt.

Derrick Henry and Leanord Fournette were better than all of those UGA running backs

Toby Gerhart did some work in his day. Easily should have won the Heisman in 2009.

Percy Harvin would be a top 10 RB of the last 20 years if he primarily played the position

Certainly a top 10 player "with the ball in his hands"

His most consequential plays came from the RB position. And in the 4th quarter of close championship games.
