I know there weren’t many Auburn wins to pick from but damn you could have tried a little harder

that might be the best Auburn has played against LSU ever......but it wasn't the best Auburn - LSU game ever played...

16 was wild even though we lost

Nah, best game was the '94 interception game.
But watching those highlights makes me realize a few things.
1) Damn, I miss that offense.
2) Damn, I really miss Rod.

Earthquake was probably the best. Interception game the most strange. 16 was a great game.

1988, 1994, 1996, and 2016 are the only answers here

Best game was 2008. Back and forth in the 2nd half.

I will add that 2010 with Cam and Patrick Peterson was great also.

Honestly that final was very misleading. I was at that game and it felt more like 45-20.

I remember thinking the score looked closer than the game. But also though we had a decent team to hold them that close.

Haven’t clicked any of the links but I’m just gonna assume the favorite is 2006.

October 25, 1969 7th ranked and unbeaten LSU 21, 5th ranked and unbeaten Auburn 20. My first game in Death Valley as a 6 year old with my Dad.
Auburn had Mickey Zofko, Terry Beasley and future Heisman-winner Pat Sullivan, LSU had Andy Hamilton, Tommy Casanova, Ronnie Estay and LB Mike Anderson, who blocked a game-tying extra point.
LSU finished 9-1 and was offered the Cotton Bowl against #1 Texas, then was reneged on when Notre Dame decided to play in a bowl for the first time since the 40s, costing LSU a chance at a Top 3 finish. (They finished 9th).

I don’t even remember the year or who won, but the game where the old gym behind the stadium burned to the ground was an amazing one. Even the broadcast at times seemed to wonder “do we show the field or the massive fire next door.”

The most misleading matchup was 1998. AU came in at 1-1, having just shut out Ole Miss on the road in their SEC opener, in defense of their 1997 SEC West title. LSU was 1-0 and expecting big things after finishing 2nd to AU in the West the previous year.
After the game (in which LSU shut out AU in the second half en route to a 31-19 victory), both teams would combine to go 4-13 the rest of the way, with AU's Bowden losing his job and LSU's DiNardo ending up on the hot seat.
Ironically, both schools ended up hiring HCs that their predecessors had beaten in their previous meetings: Tubs (losing coach in AU's lone SEC win in '98) and Saban (who fell to DiNardo in the 1995 Indy Bowl).

Another great AU-LSU game. LSU won 19-18 I believe it was 1996 or 1997 but not positive.
