so you're tell me that a football program can have 3 undefeated seasons and then the rest of their seasons can be complete bed shittings but still be considered a top 3 program?
not saying that's what Auburn has done but like I said previously....GTFO with undefeated seasons when considering who the top 3 football programs are since expansion.
and I think it's you that ALWAYS chimes in with "undefeated seasons"

I don't think that we are a distant second... but that could be my homer bias. Y'all do have 6 titles, but since 2000, we are the best program.
OP clearly stated since expansion, aka 1992. you are a DISTANT second. dont cherry pick since 2000

Football - Florida no question, #2/3 are a distant second/third
Umm..no
expansion in 1992 right?
Definitely Florida by a mile. LSU was god awful at points in teh 90s, UT, UGA and Alabama have all had bad stretches.
Yes, Florida's worst season since 1992 is this one. But that they were the #1 team in the SEC in the 90s and either they or LSU were the #1 team in teh SEC since 2000
Florida by a mile for #1 in the SEC since expansion

Wouldn't Mississippi State be in the top 3 in basketball since expansion?
Posted on 12/6/11 at 2:16 pm to TheSandman
Baseball-wise, Florida has 3 or 4 Omaha trips in there...not sure how that stacks up...

This. We're #2 but not a distant #2 by any means.
we've won 2 national titles and made omaha 5 times since 2000. That matches yall.
We've won 4 SEC tourneys to your 1, yall have 1 more regluar season championship than us
Add in the 90's and yes, you are a much distant #2
Expansion Period
South Carolina has 5 CWS appearences since expansion. LSU has 10.
LSU has 6 Conference Tourney championships, USC has 1
LSU has 5 SEC titles, USC has 3
LSU has 5 National Championships, USC has 2

I would say 6 titles to 2 titles makes you a fairly wide distant second? He didn't say since 2000 he said since expansion which would be 92, (if you wanna get technical I guess that would make it 5 titles to 2 which is still more than twice the amount).
Even if you counted it since 2000 we have the same amount of titles so you can't even say your the best program since 2000. Not sure how you would define a team success if it's not by championships and by championships, we hold the lead by a good amount.
Maybe if you win another 2 or 3 in a row and then your on to something but until then.

I never said Auburn should replace any of the three, although an argument could be made for Auburn over Alabama. And to say that all of the other seasons were "bed shittings" is just stupid.

LSU has an overall losing record from 1992-1999 (8 years).
Why should they be in the top 3 when they sucked for almost half of the time period in question?

None of this says MUCH DISTANT #2. #2 yes, but not much distant. We are the winningest baseball program since 2000 (in the SEC), so that pretty much evens things up for the past decade. Tournament victories? Yea, we've never done well in the tournament. Tanner's thing, really.
Add in the 90s, and yes you definitely take 1st place. I'm just saying there's not a LOT of distance there.
Posted on 12/6/11 at 2:23 pm to bigbowe80
Still don't think it is distant. Just me though... we have been consistent as hell, and have made 14 straight NCAA tourneys. Longest streak in the SEC.
Posted on 12/6/11 at 2:24 pm to bigbowe80
Mmmk, fine. LSU is #1 and everybody else just sucks. Clearly.

LSU has 13 conference and tourney championships combined and has been to 10 CWS and has 5 titles
South Carolina has 4 conference and tourney championships combined plus 5 CWS and 2 titles
Don't let the hard on of recent success get in the way of what's really going on. South Carolina is a distant second.
The teams behind you may be a distant 3rd, but LSU owns this bitch.

Auburn has been one of the most consistent winners since expansion plus 3 undefeated seasons.
