I’m very excited to watch this game. You kind of feel that this game is as important as a regular season game in January can be, which is to say, not extremely important because the loser of the game would still have a real shot at a one-seed in the NCAA tournament. The winner, though, could have a real shot at gaining a lot of momentum toward toward the second half of the SEC slate going into February, especially Auburn with the way their schedule lines up after tomorrow.

I’m looking forward to a great game between two really good teams loaded with possible future NBA talent.

Similar to LSU vs Bama in 2019 but in shooty hoops type of clash of SEC titans?

If Auburn wins, they almost lock up a one seed. Not many losses left out there on the schedule. I don't think UK is in play for a one seed unless they just go on a tear. Loss at Auburn kills it completely, a win still gives them an outside chance I guess.

12pm CBS game before NFL playoffs. This game is going to have a lot of eyes on it.

Can’t wait. Kids at AU are already camped out in tents to get in.

A monster game for sure.

Going back the past 10 seasons.... I very well could have missed one... but as far as I can tell this will be just the 8th time that two SEC teams met in the regular season both ranked in the Top 15.... and this will be the 3rd biggest matchup in terms of combined AP ranking. Those games are:

2019 #1 Tennessee at #5 Kentucky
2019 #4 Kentucky at #7 Tennessee
2022 #12 Kentucky at #2 Auburn
2014 #3 Florida at #14 Kentucky
2019 #5 Tennessee at #13 LSU
2020 #15 Auburn at #8 Kentucky
2017 #13 Florida at #11 Kentucky
2019 #12 Kentucky at #14 Auburn

3 Kentucky-Auburn games
2 Kentucky-Tennessee games
2 Kentucky-Florida games
1 Tennessee-LSU game

Again, I may have missed one, but that's all I saw taking a few glances at each teams past schedules.

Tents are already up outside of the arena to get in line early.

That's a pretty amazing stat, and it speaks well for how far the conference has come in basketball.

Should be a good game. Looking forward to wings and beer at the bar with the boys tomorrow as we cheer on the Cayts to victory.

Kentucky at Auburn was always 70% Auburn Vet Students from Kentucky for years. Pearl has completely changed the program.

Mine asked yesterday. Bless her heart.

ETA: When I told her there was no chance of getting tickets, unless financially stupidly, she asked about the Titans game instead.

It's a shame that Auburn and Kentucky don't play twice this year... with Pearl at Auburn, its becoming arguably the premiere game for the conference each year.

From 1990-2016, Kentucky went 31-1 against Auburn... winning 21 of those 31 by double digits.

Since then, the series is tied 5-5, with 7 of those Kentucky teams having been ranked in the Top 14. Quite a turnaround.
