I'm really disappointed in Arkansas fans. For crying out loud, this team has only won 2 SEC games in 2 seasons (2-14) and got the honor of beating up on a terrible Texas team, yet they are ecstatic with being mediocre at best. They are beating their chest over being 7-6 on the year and finishing last in the SEC West, which turned out to be a weaker division than everyone originally assumed. I don't know, maybe the fanbase is happy to actually have a winning record for once, even though that amounts to basically nothing in the SEC.
We went from "we're going to win it all next year" under Bobby P. To giving handjobs for crack over a two week period. Three years later, we're back to a "and now we have our own apartment" status - so yeah, we're a little excited about the future.
It also feels kind of good to see some of the other programs giving handjobs for crack right now.

Regarding LSU fans: we have the notion that our team is in the top 2 or 3 nationwide in terms of talent. That's a huge overestimation, we do it every year, and then we're stunned that we finish 8-5 or 9-4. Truth: Our team is about as talented as many other 8-5 teams out there, in other words, we are far from elite.
Regarding Arky fans: As irritating (or amusing) as they might be, they rightfully believe they'll be fielding a strong team in 2015. It's the end of the 2014 season that gives them this optimism, and I don't disagree with them.

I guess he'll have to settle for winning SEC games against the vaunted Arkansas.
2-0
2-0

And this says all there is to say about Auburn's expectations, sorry you played your Superbowl in August this season.

They blew their load at the beginning of the season couldn't sustain it

it does, it really really does.
i suppose we should apologize for getting better throughout the season when other teams got worse.

Instead of being ugly mugwumps about the Indiana and 34-0 Georgia beatdown, our team came back and performed very well given their low ceiling.
Got to enjoy the ride man. Otherwise you will be left with nothing to show for yourself and clinging to stuff that happened more than a decade ago.

Someone's really mad that Gus "Redzone Retard" Malzahn can't win bowl games.

Auburn's expectations.
Never seen a fanbase so excited to beat a team they say sucks so bad.

I like the troll attempt but I get the optimism of the others.
I think Mizzou is ecstatic that they are even relevant as a football program.
TAMU fans are more excited about a DC hire as am I over the results of their season.
Arky fans have to be excited over a 7-6 record. I would have been too had Auburn done the same in 2013 after the disaster of 2012.
UGA I'm not so sure about other than they are trolling. They know they have some issues, but when you have a Perpetual Chubby in the backfield how can you not be happy.

The attitude being displayed by fanbases says it all about expectations...
Exactly what the title says. Some fanbases are satisfied with being mediocre (and even worse), while other fanbases are bummed about the end result of the season.
FWIW it's still possible to be happy about a season yet 'bummed by the end result.'
See LSU 2011.
I don't see what's wrong about having a glass-half full mentality. It's just a matter of looking at the positives and not dwelling on and/or seeking solutions for perceived negatives.
Chavis was quoted as saying it was just time for a change. I'm sure the money didn't hurt.
LSU will get a quality DC, as will A&M.
It should help both schools' recruiting. If not right away, in the long run.

It was unfortunate Auburn didn't win the BCSNGC, but the Outback bowl? Please, irrelevant in my eyes. There are way too many irrelevant bowls as it stands anyways.

Bama lost so I'm not as sad

UGA met expectations? You lost a wide open SECE to Missouri FFS
Now, we were more disappointing than you, but still
